Collins played great D on Shaq in the 4th. Shaq scored one field goal on which he laid the ball in while using his off hand on JCs shoulder for leverage. I think it is an embarassment that an obvious offensive foul like that was not called (only the Globetrotters should get that one). It was obvious from the furthest seat in the arena (I confirmed what I saw on the replay the next morning). I don't blame the refs for the loss though, the Nets made more mistakes than the refs. p.s. I thought the officiating for the Orlando game was up there among the worst I have ever seen....again, not the refs fault the Nets lost. The Boston game was bad too, I think the refs actually stopped calling fouls against the Celtics because the Nets couldn't hit a free throw anyway. That punk hit by Posey on Armstrong should have been a flagrant accompanied by a fine. I guess I'm saying, in comparison, the Heat game was well officiated.

And in reply to your post, it's not just refs officiating NJ games. It's all around the league. It seems like every year, refs in the NBA get worse and worse.

Only the paranoid, the delusional and the fool blame the referees for their team's own faults and inabilities.

Only the paranoid, the delusional and the fool think that the team they root for is "theirs."

Completely untrue and irrelevant to the points at hand. Find me 10 people that haven't referred to their own sports team as "our team" or "we" or "us".

Anyway, is it just me or is it comical to call people out as simplistic and ignorant and then proceed to blame the officials as the reason the Nets lost a game in which they blew a simple layup, turned the ball over 27 times, missed two critical free throws down the stretch.

    The irony.

Collins didn't play a "Great" D on Shaq in4th qtr.In fact, Shaq is killing us in the 4th, You could say Shaq isn't scoring THAT much, but Collins did foul him many times, and sent him to the line.

Too many three-dollar words to be a fool, and you don't seem paranoid. Delusional, then.

Well keep in mind that I never say whats logically right or wrong, rather thats just the way that most humans are. Its my opinion that if you ask most fans who say "yay we're good!" or "boo we suck and so does nachbar" (sorry boki) they'll also admit that they didn't actually suit up and play that game.

So admittedly delusional? Thats a bit of a oxymoron. Thats just how people connect with their team. It's probably the same reason why you feel down when the Nets lose, and happy when they win.

Not really. He had 7 points in the 4th. I couldn't find an exact FG%, but he was missing shots too. Keep in mind that more people than Collins were guarding him during that span.

Shaq's FG in the 4th is like 1-3(informed by Dumy). The FGM is a beautiful hookshot over Collins.

    In fact, Shaq's FG% in the 4th is 50% !!!!

And he was fouled to the line for many times,

not to mention he made all the FT, ok, it's just unlucky to us.

But Collins can't stop him without fouling, and that would make the foul limits reaching.

true, Shaq made 2 field goals in the 4th, but i am pretty sure the first was on Kristic, the second, like I said should have been disallowed....i accept your point about the fouls....i guess i am thinking that if anyone held Shaq to a couple of trips to the line and a field goal a couple of years ago that would have been considered great defense, maybe not anymore, actually, JC doesn't even need to employ the hack a Shaq strategy anymore, he can defend him straight up like other mere "mortals"
