Tough loss since Pierce could have gone to the basket for 2.

Orlando is a good team but our team sucked tonight and still came back from a 20 point difference and almost won.

Can't wait till we play them again. [IMG]

I couldn't watch this game because I had to work 3-10, but I just saw the box score and briefly talked to somebody about the game. I'll catch the replay tomorrow around noon.

Sucks that we lost. From what other Celtics fans are telling me, we played poor defense, missed crucial shots/FT's, made bad decisions in crunch time, got chippy with Howard, and were stomped in the first half.

Here's my way of putting it: [with the exception of the 3rd quarter] when the refs weren't kicking our ass, we were kicking our own ass.

I can't believe Tony Allen missed a layup all by himself. That was pathetic. I loved it when Tommy said "I want to take his green card" about Hedo. That was hilarious!Ah well, it was nice while it lasted, we just struggled tonight.

That was a terrible last play. There was more than enough time to get a high % shot - not a prayer 3. If that was a designed play by Doc, it was his first chance all season to coach a win - and he blew it.

Looks like the play was for Pierce to take it to the basket:

Rivers said the plan was for Pierce to take the ball to the basket to tie the game. But instead, Pierce hoisted a 27-foot 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds left. The shot missed and Magic center Dwight Howard (24 points) grabbed the rebound, giving Boston its first loss.

"I thought I had a good look at a three," Pierce said. "I saw about one or two seconds left and I could have drove and tied the game up. But I went with my instincts. It didn't go our way today."

I'm not Doc's biggest fan when it comes to late-game decisions, but I have to back him up on this. Against Miami, Doc drew up that play for Pierce, and that won us the game. So give him some credit, at least where it's due.

I saw the highlights, and am about to watch the full game in 5 minutes, but from what I saw on the highlights - I'm not so sure it was Doc's fault that Pierce hauled up the 3. Even Paul said it was his instinct.

And there wer 7.2 seconds left on the clock. Enough time to do whatever they wanted to basically.

Yes - the play was for Pierce to take it to the basket - and he went with his gut and took the outside shot.

I think this should open up the flood gates and the Celtics should start losing more now. Come on guys, you didn't think that you were going to win every game right? That's the problem when you have a good team. The fans expectations sore. What? You guys thought that you could do the whole Chicago Bulls win streak at 20+ games (ala Jordan)? Dream on. You guys haven't even had a solid Western Conference team as yet (don't say Denver).. LOL.. welcome back to earth Boston.. LOL.. hahahaha
