With the our slow moving big men that includes Collins, Magloire, to some extent Allen, and not to mention Krstic, I'm surprised to not see Boone playing more against the more athletic and quicker teams we have played thus far. I've been pleasantly surprised with SWill's production, so why can't Boone. Hopefully it's more a matter of recovering from off season surgery than being in the usual LFrank doghouse. He was so productive for us near the end of last season especially on the pick and roll and hope he doesn't take a step back. It would be great if we had 2 good young forwards who may challenge Collins for his minutes.

He really hasn't shown that he deserves any playing time. With the group of guys we have though if he works harder and just waits it out he will get his chance.

hey razel welcome to S2! Shoot me a PM if you have any questions about the site.

I really wish Boone would get Malik's minutes. Boone isn't a jumpshooting big man...but c'mon, is Allen? Malik's defense is non existent and I think he does more harm than good. While Boone hasn't gotten enough time to show that he demands more, he really hasn't gotten enough of a shot to say that he's a poor player.

He's like the guy in NBA 2K8 you put as prospect rather than role player. Like GM3 stated, he hasn't done much in the time he has been given.

I'd rather give Allen's minutes to Boone. Although Allen can shoot the ball, but he is way worse than Mikki Moore.

I don't know if this is a good front court starters, Mikki Moore + Sean Williams.

But Moore is not really a good low-post defender, we need his jumpshooting ability though.

Mikki is nothing without J Kidd. Just look at his stats in Sacramento.

    That's unfair.

I'm not a proponent of playing Moore more than 15 or 20 minutes a game (because of his horrid defense), but Jason Kidd wasn't knocking down all those shots.

Kidd's played with lots of big men, but all most of them did is chuck up a bunch of bricks.

Sacramento has NO point guard whatsoever. I'm sure if they had any kind of distributor Mikki would be rolling and popping as well as he was last year.

ok, maybe that was too harsh on him. but, I still do not regret of letting him go as last year Mikki simply jumped above his head.

Hard to tell what's going on with Boonie. Is it that he is still on the mend somehow, lacks confidence or is apathetic?

If he's not 100%, that's cool. Maybe he can help down the line.

If he's low in the self-esteem department, I think a good coach, if he sees something in a player should stroke his ego a bit and give him some regular rotation time (6-10 mins in lieu of Allen?). Tho' that approach rubs me the wrong way somehow (a professional should be a professional, ready to play and all that...) Frank is a professional too. *If* it helps the team, it needs doin'.

Finally, if he doesn't care, he doesn't belong.

I've been having a sinking feeling that Boonie may become one of these guys that bounces around the league for a few years, only to be "discovered" later by someone and ends up doing a credible job.

He's playing timid. He hasn't gained any weight during the offseason and his shoulder surgery really hampered his growth. We need to trade him. Maybe to Minnesota for Gerald Green?

Boone will not get better unless he gets minutes.

When he was given minutes at the end of last season he produced. If he was given 25 mins a game he'd be a double double canidate nightly. Dont sleep on Josh Boone. The kid has more potential than any big man on our roster except for maybe Sean Williams. Honestly Lawrence Frank in my mind just doesnt know how to use him...or any other young players for that matter. RJ was forced into minutes his first year and got better...kristic was supposed to be a bench player til they got rid of kmart and mourning went down...then he developed. Wright gets minutes...he develops...and makes us regret not picking up the 4th year.

Boone can play on this team....and we need him. We can't afford to have a player like Collins on the floor with Jkidd while vince is out...we just lose way to much offense.

Welcome to S2, callmecrazi4! If you need anything, lemme know!

I think a big part of Boone not getting big minutes and not producing much is the fact that he had shoulder surgery in the offseason. I think we can now officially call this kid injury prone, and a serious potential bust.
