Ok so last night's episode's ending almost made me soil myself it was so good. I'm glad Dexter finally ditched Lila, but I've got a bad feeling about how that will end. My prediction? She burns down Rita's house, and then Dexter retaliates by killing her; thus finally revealing 'the monster.'

The teaser to next week's episode looks even more unreal. Part of me thinks that the evidence against the Bay Harbor Butcher is just too much, but he always finds away to get himself out of trouble.

Dexter is easily the best drama (An understating adjective, admittadly) on TV right now.

Missing out, seriously. GM3 you tell him.

I think I've got a sound theory: Doakes brings the blood samples to Lundi, and tries to incrimminate Dex. One problem: he can't really do so without incrimminating himself, so its really his word against Dexter's as to who those samples belong to and where they came from. So far we've seen Dexter get the benefit of that doubt, after all its how Doakes got in his situation.

But I wouldn't stop there. Doakes needs to be put away, he's too much of a threat to Dexter, and the police are catching up to him. Dexter can fix this situation by capitalizing on the blood samples, and framing Doakes with them. Afterall, he always wore gloves when preparing the samples, right? That box has got to have Doakes fingerprints all over it. Plus Doakes can't really say he got it from Dexter's place unless he wants to be sent to jail. This is going to get good.

    YES!

Awesome episode last night though I think Doakes still doesn't know what he has, I don't think he knows Dex is the BHB yet. I like your theory on framing Doakes as the BHB. I'm getting tired of the character so this is a good chance to get him off the screen without killin him off the show. Dexter is still two steps ahead of everyone though. Doakes doesn't know what he has, Lundy has narrowed the search but its still working in the dark and Lyla is just plain crazy she still thinks its drugs.

I'm really going to miss Lundi. He closed the BHB case a lot more quickly than Dex figured out the Ice Truck Killer. I wish we had more time with him; he makes a really good advarsary.

Although seeing him spank Deb was just creepy

Apparently I'm behind- I download the episodes. But I watched Season 1 over about a month, and I was impressed. The pacing was off, though. It didn't make sense that Dexter never tried to figure out why the Ice Truck Killer had homed in on him, or knew so much about him. It's a difficult show to write, i think, because they have to keep Dex sympathetic on some levels. I would have done this for season 1- made an arc where he tries to take in that kid like Harry did him, while puzziling over the Ice Truck Killer and drawing that out much more. I would have ended the season with dexter coming in to meet the false Ice Truck Killer and the last scene of the season could have been Dexter's smile after the dude said, "Who the fuck are you?"

Then they could have saved this finding his victims stuff for season 3, and done more brother stuff this season- I felt like it was really truncated at the end.

I don't know why I think about these things when I like a show.

Season 1 was actually based on a book. Season 2 isn't though.

I watch it. The previews for next week look good but previews are always misleading. If you haven't seen em yet then I suggest you check it out. It basically leads you to believe that Dexter will be caught in the next episode. My guess is he's probably dreaming.

I read that Showtime is going to pick it up for a 3rd season which means Dexter can't end up behind bars or getting the death penalty. I also think Doakes out of everyone might actually be the least likely to turn Dexter in because Dexter only kills murderers and Doakes doesn't exactly have a clean past. For some reason his character seems to be the one that I think would understand with Dexter. As odd as that may seem it would make for an interesting twist. I get the feeling that someone at the end of the season is going to know Dexter "secret".

Yeah like I said before it should be Lila. She'll finally see the monster (after showing hers - arson), and it will destroy her. In other words: wrapped in plastic.

I had finals when Dexter's final episodes were airing so I missed them but I caught up on them today(I love DVR), what a great season finale.

If you don't want spoilers don't read.

I can't believe Doakes is dead, I wanted to see him less but I'm going to miss his character. What a fucked up way to go too. I'm hoping that they find a way to keep him on the show, maybe as a ghost like Rescue Me does it.

Lila is one crazy bitch but man what a hottie, I was happy she got away from Dexter but then the final few moments of the finale he actually travels to Paris to killer her, lol.

I can't wait for next season, what a great show.

Not that I wouldn't mind talking about Dexter's Lab, I loved that show.

    Woo hoo! I nailed it!

Season three should be great. I could see Lieutenant NurseFromOz going rouge trying to prove Doakes' innocence and being the antagonist in season three, although I'm hoping for a brand spanking new plot line.

So far each season has centered around events that are very personal to Dexter: season one dealt with finding his brother, and season two dealt with him 'getting caught' and debunking his Dad's teachings. I could see something serious happening to his sister next season; perhaps she finds out the truth?
