MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- This time it wasn't so closefor the Memphis Grizzlies.

Stromile Swift scored a season-high 24 points to lead sevenplayers in double figures, as the Grizzlies snapped a three-gamelosing streak with a 125-108 blowout victory over the SeattleSuperSonics at FedEx Forum.

Mike Miller had 19 points, Damon Stoudamire added 16 and PauGasol 14 for the Grizzlies, who shot a season-high 56 percent(48-of-86) from the field after losing each of their last threegames by three points or less, including a 108-105 decision atDallas on Saturday.

"I made a comment about (the close losses) to the team. I wasstarting to think every game was supposed to be that way,"first-year Memphis coach Marc Iavaroni said. "Not us losing, butevery game being down to the wire with a decision, decision, decision. It was refreshing to get an easier night with theworkload at the end."

Monday's contest was never in doubt, as Memphis built adouble-digit lead by the 5:03 mark of the first quarter. TheGrizzlies shot 67 percent (14-of-21) in the first period, including 5-of-8 from the arc, to open a 38-24 lead after thefirst period. The Grizzlies used a 13-2 run midway through thefirst and a 9-2 closing run to take command.

Stoudamire, who entered having scored 19 points in his previoussix games and losing minutes to backups Kyle Lowry and MikeConley Jr., scored nine consecutive points on a pair of3-pointers, layup and a free throw to improve a one-point leadto 21-11 with 5:03 left in the period.

Stoudamire finished 5-of-7 from the floor, including 3-of-3 fromthe arc, and added seven assists. The lefthander convertedjust 7-of-29 shot attempts in his last six games and didn't havemore than six assists in any of those contests.

"We just could not guard their penetration," Seattle coach P.J.Carlesimo said. "They shot the ball very well. They had a lotmore energy than we did in every aspect of the game. I don'tthink there was one area where we matched their intensity."

It was Memphis' second win in as many tries this season overSeattle, which lost, 105-98, to the Grizzlies at home onNovember 7.

Delonte West's 17 points led Seattle, which fell behind by asmany as 27 points in the third quarter after trailing, 68-53, atthe half.

"It comes down to playing hard," said Seattle center ChrisWilcox, who scored 16 points. "I think that is what it is rightnow. We are just not going out and giving it our all."

Seattle rookie Kevin Durant, the SuperSonics' leading scorerthis season and the NBA's top rookie scorer, was limited to 11points on 2-of-8 shooting.

Durant, the only SuperSonic player to have scored in doublefigures in each game this season, added two rebounds and twoassists.

"They came out fast and knocked down some shots," Durant said."They penetrated on us too much, and we can't do that with ateam like Memphis."

Miller and Stoudamire, meanwhile, combined to score 20 of theGrizzlies' first 24 points, helping Memphis build a 16-pointfirst-quarter lead.

"We played well defensively and that's what we need to do toignite our offense," Miller said. "The better our defense, thebetter our offense is going to be. ... Lately, we've beenplaying just well enough to lose and tonight we played well thewhole game, which was good to see."

Swift added 10 of his 24 points in the opening frame.

"They were focusing a lot on Pau and I was able to get open,"Swift said. "In this league, you have to feel like you can scoreon anybody."
