During the summer with all those trade rumors about trading Odom and Bynum for Jermaine O'Neal, I was all for it. Now looking back at it, I am so glad Mitch Kupchak didn't pull the trigger. Right now the Lakers chemistry is great and Bynum is averaging 10/9 playing only 20 minutes. While Jermaine O'Neal is only averaging 13/7 playing 30 minutes a game.
He hasn't even gotten past 20 points yet in his 9 games, and has only gotten one double double compared to Bynum's four. Not exactly the 20/10 O'Neal everyone was expecting if we traded for him.
I know the season is still early but right now I'm happy that we didn't trade for O'Neal even though I was for it during the summer. If we had traded for him, we would've had to add in fillers like Farmar or Crittenton. This made Mitch Kupchak look a little smarter than I thought.

I always thought Odom and Bynum for O'Neal was too, much to give up. I would still trade Odom and Kwame for him though.

The pacers have to realize that they, in now way, can win with their current lineup especially with it's age...
Their core of Dunleavy, Murphy, Granger, Tinsely and JO just wont work bec. JO and tinsely arent what they used to be and they need time to have better chemistry, and imo jo and tinsley dont have time...
They should go for expiring contracts, like what the kings are doing.. like Kwame, evans, cook, vujacic
thought: what if, just what if we traded caron for either baron or boozer, especiallgy boozer <sigh>

The Lakers are loaded with offensive players and individuals who can create offense. JO would give the team consistency on the defensive end and a shotblocking presence. Having a frontline of JO/Bynum would be tough for teams to deal with in the post season.

I guess I just figured Odom was more important to the Lakers' offense than he actually is.
