Patriots improve to 10-0 after scoring TDs on first seven possessions</p> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'></p> ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Tom Brady. Randy Moss. Even Kyle Eckel.</p> The New England Patriots are showing no mercy to any opponent, not even the Buffalo Bills, a team for which coach Bill Belichick has publicly expressed affection.</p> Scoring touchdowns on their first seven offensive possessions and getting the eighth on a turnover, the Patriots won their 10th straight game, routing Buffalo 56-10 Sunday night. Brady and Moss, ready to rewrite the NFL record books, led the romp.</p> Brady was 31-for-39 for 373 yards with five TD passes, four to Moss, as New England became the 10th team since 1970 to start a season 10-0. The way they played, they appear unbeatable, and barring injury are an excellent bet to become the NFL's first perfect team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins.</p> "Can this offense play any better? Of course we can," said Moss. "With all 11 guys executing, there's no telling what we can do."</p> They've already done plenty.</p> It was the ninth time in 10 games New England won by more than 17 points and the ninth time it scored more than 34 points. The Patriots did it coming off a bye week after their only close game of the season, a 24-20 win in Indianapolis in which they came back from a 10- point deficit with less than 10 minutes left.</p> Brady, who has yet to throw fewer than three touchdown passes in a game, increased his TD passes to 38, just 11 short of Peyton Manning's single-season record, set in 2004. Moss' four TD catches gave him 16 for the season, six short of the record set by Jerry Rice in 1987.</p> "They are magnificent. They really are," said Buffalo president Marv Levy, who coached the Jim Kelly-led Bills that went to four Super Bowls between 1990-93 and, at the time, set the standard for offensive excellence.</p> </div></p> </p> <table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3" class="tablehead"> <tbody> <tr valign="top" class="gamehead"> <td colspan="6">Scoring Summary</td> </tr> <tr align="center" class="colhead"> <td align="left" colspan="4">FIRST QUARTER</td> <td style="width: 30px;">NWE</td> <td style="width: 30px;">BUF</td> </tr> <tr class="oddrow"> <td align="left"></td> <td>TD</td> <td>12:17</td> <td>Laurence Maroney 6 Yd Run (Stephen Gostkowski Kick)</td> <td align="center">7</td> <td align="center">0</td> </tr> <tr class="oddrow"> <td align="left"></td> <td>TD</td> <td>08:04</td> <td>Randy Moss 43 Yd Pass From Tom Brady (Stephen Gostkowski Kick)</td> <td align="center">14</td> <td align="center">0</td> </tr> <tr class="evenrow"> <td align="left"></td> <td>TD</td> <td>03:38</td> <td>Roscoe Parrish 47 Yd Pass From J.P. Is there a count down to the "classlessly running up the score on a legend like Dick Jaron" thread?</p>
I watched the game after the celtics-magic game was over, and even though I was mad that the celts lost, watching the Pats raised my spirits and made me happy.</p>
I was watching the Revs lose, then the Celtics lose, then I was dealing with some ridiculous crap on campus, then I got back in time to see that the Pats were already up 14 and driving for more.</p> I can't wait for next Saturday night when they smoke the Eagles.</p>
Yeah I saw the Revs game as well. Seems like they can't win the Final after all. 3 times in a row and always short.</p> Hopefully they'll hold the Eagles to 0 points. haha</p>
Oh, when you guys play the Ravens soon. I'mhoping they score 70 on us so Billick gets fired the day after. Lack of offense that puts the d in bad spotscombined withinjuries on this team and lack of talent after McAlister and Reed at DB, it's possible too.</p>
The only team standing in the way of The Pats' perfect regular season right now is the Steelers. The Giants might have a chance if the weather is super crappy and the Pats decide to rest guys for the playoffs, but that's pretty much it.</p>
Did you see the Steelers get completely shut down by an inferior Jets' defense?</p> Remember, the Jets run the same D as the Patriots, only with far less talent.</p>
Well, it goes without saying that the REAL Steelers would have to show up... It also wouldn't hurt if Brady blew out his knee...</p>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'></p> Well, it goes without saying that the REAL Steelers would have to show up... It also wouldn't hurt if Brady blew out his knee...</p> </div></p> I'm waiting for a back up DE to pull a Kimo Von Oelhoffen and take out Brady. The thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if our back up QB, Matt Cassel, comes in and throws a few wins. The kid's a good QB, just stuck behind stars his whole career (Palmer, Lienart, and now Brady). I'm not saying he's even in the same stadium as Brady, but he's okay.</p>
They'd have to get to Brady first. The line isn't letting anyone get there, though the Colts had a few shots, but they should have beaten the Pats with Brady.</p> I don't think you'll see anyone taking shots at Brady. I know there are some who think scoring 50+ on the opponent is a classless move, but taking shots at the quarterback well after the play because you can't beat them any other way is just pathetic. And I think that would be accompanied by a very significant suspension for both player and coach. The back up D-line guys aren't the type that can afford to lose their job for such a move.</p>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (lukewarmplay)</div><div class='quotemain'></p> Karma will probably take care of Brady.</p> </div></p> </p> Because Brady did anything other than his job. Don't make so much sense there.</p>
