Jason Kidd skipped out on postgame media after the Nets’ losses on Friday and Saturday and finally spoke his mind Monday in Utah. Kidd says he’s disappointed in how his team has given up at times and doesn’t see getting Vince Carter back (which won’t happen Monday) as the solution. “We had him, but still we’re losing,” he said.

I don't get that statement. We were 4 - 1 with Vince in the lineup...

    oooOOOOooooh

QUOTE

"We're so quick to bail, in the sense of mentally letting go of the rope," he said. "Actually we wouldn't let go of the rope (last year), but this year we're letting go of the rope. When we go down eight or nine, we can't make a shot, or something happens and all of a sudden it goes to 20. It's just disappointing."

QUOTE

L-Frank, who has never criticized the guy before and won't start now, nonetheless sounds as though he's sick of hearing it.

Today's credo: "If you're just with the team when it's going well, then you're not really a true teammate and you're not really a credible coach," Frank said. "It's the consistency of doing your job every single day -- through the good and through the bad, and everyone has that responsibility."

Even though I think he is jumping the gun a bit (of course we arent elite) but we have yet to see how a fully healthy lineup is capable of doing. We arent going to win much Gill as the backup point guard and with only one or two bigs even bother showing up to games.

I still think a lineup of

    Kidd/Marcus/Armstrong/Gill
    Carter/Wright
    Jefferson/Boki
    Sean/Krstic/Boone/Allen
    Collins/Magloire

can be very good, it just that it really depends on whether or not some of the players will get out of their slumps(Boki struggling overall, Magloire struggled in the beginning of last season....so who knows, Krstic going through the motions with his knee, Carter struggled for most of the games he played in, Boone and Allen....where the hell did they go?).

And despite Kidd's complaints, he is stil playing very well.

This is the first time, as far as I remember, that Kidd has called out his team in public as a Net. I don't think he's calling out Frank because the "we bail easily' remark applies to the team. Frank is not there giving up on the sidelines.

You can't blame Kidd being frustrated, his 34 years old, not many years in the remaining the league. Each year its the same speiel with the Nets, we have the ability to take advantage of our easy early schedule yet we blow it year after year.

Listening to Whitesnake is not a good sign. Not for Kidd, not for anyone.

Maybe he's just trying to rally the guys by calling them out in public. Let's see who responds and who doesn't to their leader. If you take the top scorer off any team in the league that team is going to struggle to win games. Other players need to step up and take advantage of these opportunities. I think Kidd is frustrated no one has stepped up and this was needed to light a fire under his teammates.

In my dreams we'd be able to pawn Vince off to the Lakers for Bynum, Brown, and Radmanovic, but of course the Lakers won't deal Bynum for Vince if they didn't for Kidd. :~(

Can you say worst trade ever? Trading Kidd for a mediocre point guard, a hustle forward with heart problems and an unproven center with "potential" isn't on Thorn's to do list. I hope.

No need to panic, J-Kidd is allowed to express what he feels. It's not like we're 8-2, we really are playing terrible basketball. I'd be mad at him for NOT complaining. If we continue playing like this, I say trade Carter, Collins and Nachbar and a future draft pickfor Jermaine O'Neal, Ike Diogu and Stephen Graham. Fixes our scoring problem, our big man problem, our defense problem and pretty much every problem we have. Can you imagine:

    Kidd/M. Williams/Armstrong/Gill

    Wright/M. Williams/Graham/Jefferson

    Jeffrson/Graham/Wright

    S. Williams/Diogu/Allen/O'Neal

    O'Neal/Krstic/Magloire/Boone

    That's one solid lineup.

Really? He picks this moment -when Sean Williams is just discovered, when Vince is coming back and there's no substantial backup point right now, when Krstic is slowly recovering and Antoine is coming into his own - to bemoan the Nets' lack of a future?

Mediocre point guard? Have you watched any of the Laker games yet? This guy has been a huge spark off the bench. And should be starting. Turiaf is a hutle forward with HEART, not heart problems. Bynum hasn't proven himself yet? Hasn't he gotten better every season? He still only 20 years old. Him and Sean Williams would make a monster front court in the future.

Farmar is an average point guard at best at this point of his career. I don't see him improving beyond 13/4/6 and that's no better than Marcus Williams, so I don't see how trading for him will help us.

I never said Turiaf doesn't have heart. I actually meant that by saying "hustle player" He had heart problems, that's a fact. Who knows if he still does.

Bynum has potential, but that doesn't mean anything if he doesn't reach it. Trading for him is a high risk/high reward move. IMO, it would be a bad idea.

Basically, this trade won't really help the Nets. We don't need Turiaf,we don't need Farmar and trading for Bynum is a huge risk. I'dbe much morecontentwith a trade for Jermaine O'Neal. Not to mention the fact that the salaries don't even come close to matching, but that's another story.

Kidd must be patient, I am happy that he is unhappy though, because this team really sucks.

Until Carter is back, we'll have this lineup.

    Kidd
    Carter
    Jefferson
    SWAT
    Magloire

    after Krstic is healthy

    Kidd
    Carter
    Jefferson
    SWAT
    Krstic

    the best lineup ever.

I agree that when Carter is with the team, we are 4-1. Kidd must be patient,

as long as we don't play Collins, we will be very strong.

or Fire Lawrence or Waive Collins.
