Kidd has every right to be angry. I would be angry. This team's offensive schemes are horrendous. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't upset with L-Frank in any way. I know I am.

I don't know why you would get rid of Frank, and then get rid of kid. Presumably getting rid of Frank fixes a lot of problems with the Nets.

Also could you imagine if Kidd complained about not getting a ring...and then got shipped to the lakers? haha oh man, hope he loves that humble pie.

A glass jaw this team has.. Hmmph! On Carter's absence the team's preformance we cannot blame. A disturbance in the frontcourt I suspect.

I don't get that statement. We were 4 - 1 with Vince in the lineup...

The 4-1 record was deceiving. We could have easily lost those games.

He should be unhappy with his own play. I don't give a flying fart about his "19 rebounds" in one game. About 10 of them came off of his own bricked shots (he always hustles hardest when he's missed a shot or turned the ball over). He's playing hard right now, but he's not playing particularly intelligently. He's turning the ball over a lot, and he simply does not have the offensive tool set to lead a team without a go-to scorer and playmaker like Vince, at least when the team is not getting enough stops to score in transition. He can't break anyone down off the dribble. He can't reliably finish if he manages to get in the lane off a pick and roll. He is exposed defensively by everyone from Chris Paul to TJ Ford/Jose Calderon to (last season) Jarret Jack and Luke Ridnour. And gawd knows he can't shoot. Instead of pointing his finger at everyone else, he should spend a little time looking in the mirror. Way to "lead", Jason.

And anyone who still believes Vince Carter isn't the MVP of this team is delusional. Seeing them without him for this long a stretch gives (even) me new appreciation for just how offensively inept they are without him. Bring on the "isos". I'd rather watch Vince go one on five and "chuck" from 33 feet any day than watch this miserable offense stumble and sputter toward a whopping 60-70 point output.

I'm unhappy with the team too Kidd...but that doesn't mean I'm willing to give up. It's only the first 3 weeks, get the kinks out of the system, get your shit together (by you I mean Kidd, the team, and Frank) and you'll be fine.

I know you are speaking figuratively, but 15 of those 19 rebounds were on the defensive end. You also have to understand that Kidd is not fully healthy and on the nights when RJ is not clicking, he has to force the action, which results in turnovers and bad shots. In the last two years, he's really cut down on his turnovers, and it is not surprising that he's giving the ball up a lot more in this stretch. He is not a scorer, period. Those things you mentioned have been there for 13 years now, so it is unfair to expect him to be the go to guy on offense. The offensive ineptness is more a result of mismatched pieces, and players being in an offensive slump. How Kidd is able to get 10 assists a night with that group , I don't know. It is not surprising that kidd likes playing with Williams.

I don't think the debate here is about Vince vs Kidd. You also have to keep in mind that Krstic is not his own self, Boki has been in a slump and the Nets have nobody at the backup guard positions. This is compounded by the fact that Magloire and Allen have been terrible.

Just because Kidd is getting older, it doesn't mean Vince Carter is all of a sudden going to lead the Nets to glory.

Maybe Carter is the MVP of the Nets now. That is a disaster. It means it's time to start from scratch.

This team isn't as bad as they are made out to be right now. With Carter they are certainly more dangerous offensively. I blame the coach for running these assinine plays and I also put some blame on Kidd for killing any offensive momentum by turning the ball over and over again at inopportune times. Kidd is hardly the scapegoat though. This team is just terrible right now.

Really? He picks this moment -when Sean Williams is just discovered, when Vince is coming back and there's no substantial backup point right now, when Krstic is slowly recovering and Antoine is coming into his own - to bemoan the Nets' lack of a future?

He's not bemoaning the future. He's not a part of the future. He's bemoaning the present, with good reason.

I wouldn't go that far. It just seems that way because the Nets can't score and Carter scores over 20ppg.

I still think it could be time to start from scratch. It's just how do you blow a team up with your franchise player, a player you just signed to an extension, and a player that has a shot at the all-star team this year?

The issue I take with his comments is that he talks of a lack of a solution for the team this season, when much has yet to go right and some has just started to.

I'm saying that Jason Kidd (at least of a few years ago) is a player you can build around and have some hope that you can win it all.

Trying to build a championship team around Vince Carter is a colossal waste of time.

The only way he ever leads is with his effort on the court. Other than that, I totally agree.

I didn't watch the game last night, but based on his 2 rebounds and on Deron's line, doesn't look like he gave much effort.
