Stewie easily. South Park Peaked at the Movie then they only did the occasional funny Episode, Like the Michael JAckson one.
Where as Family guy every episode has me in stitches and although Stewie isn't my favorite character he is still amazingly funny.

Cartman; South Park's still funny, while Family Guy peaked in it's last season before the cancellation. The new Family Guy's are just cliche, annoying, and a bit pretentious.

Cartman has been doing it for years, and the tourette episode was a classic!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SaSosKEu4U...feature=related

I don't think Stewie is the best character on Family Guy. I think he is way overrated. Brian however is an excellent character. Cartman is pretty funny, but i'm also a fan of Randy Marsh from South Park. So to answer the question, Cartman.

Seasons 7 & 8 were the best two seasons andthey airedin 2003 & 2004 where as the movie came out in 1999. Cartman is better, I mean he killed a guys parents, chopped them up and then fed them to the guy. Pure genius.

I think South Park is every bit as pretentious as Family Guy, often overtly so with Matt and Trey's pseudo-libertarian (conservative) views shoehorned into episodes, but it doesn't take away from how hilarious the show is. Cartman is the better and funnier evil character.

Stewie isn't even the best character on family guy. That show's all about Peter. Chris and Brian are even funnier than him.
I'd definitely give this one to Cartman.
