After winning their first eight games of the season, most by convincing margins, the Orlando Magic ruined the fun this past Sunday with a 104-102 victory over the C’s. The Celtics weren’t up to snuff defensively, continued to turn the ball over almost double what they should, and made many consecutive questionable decisions in crunch time. The team knew they wouldn’t go undefeated, but the first loss still hurts knowing that it was a winnable game. Expect the men in green to come out with a lot of fire tonight at home.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><st1:city><st1lace>Boston</st1lace></st1:city> will have their work cut out for them, though. After losing their first six games of the season, the Warriors have been on a tear as of late with three straight victories, including a 26-point victory in <st1:state><st1lace>New York</st1lace></st1:state> last night. Captain Stephen Jackson (yes, you read that correctly – Stephen Jackson is a team captain) served a suspension for the first seven games of the season for pleading guilty to felony charges, and both his talent and presence were missed on the court by the club. In his first two games back, he has returned as his old self, posting averages of 20 points, 4.5 rebounds, and six assists per game.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">In need of a redemption, the Celtics better make sure they come out with a lot of energy against this team. They’re quick, they’re scrappy, they’re energetic, and they can put as many points on the board as you’d like in a short amount of time. It will be interesting to see if the Celtics can keep up with <st1lace><st1lacename>Golden</st1lacename> <st1lacetype>State</st1lacetype></st1lace>, on the second night of a back-to-back or not. This won’t be an easy win.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o></o></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong style="">Projected Starters<o></o>[/b]</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong style="">C[/b] Andris Biedrins / Kendrick Perkins <strong style="">PF[/b] Al Harrington / Kevin Garnett <strong style="">SF[/b] Stephen Jackson / Paul Pierce <strong style="">SG[/b] Kelenna Azubuike / Ray Allen <strong style="">PG[/b] Baron Davis / Rajon Rondo</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o></o></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong style="">Key Matchup: [/b]Baron Davis vs. Rajon Rondo<strong style=""><o></o>[/b]</p> <p class="MsoNormal">This matchup is the most intriguing to me, but it’s also the scariest. Baron Davis is a bulldog. He’s one of the strongest/bulkiest guards in the league, he’s extremely fast, and his talent level is obviously off the charts. This will be Rajon Rondo’s biggest test this season. Can he keep up with Baron Davis? Can he slow him down? Can he disrupt him? Or will Baron Davis have his way with him? I can’t wait to find out.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o></o></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong style="">Celtics X-Factor:[/b] Rajon Rondo</p> <p class="MsoNormal">See reasons above in the “Key Matchup” section.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o></o></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><strong style="">Celtics Keys to the Game<o></o>[/b]</p> <ul type="disc" style="margin-top: 0in;"> <li style="" class="MsoNormal">Control the Tempo <li style="" class="MsoNormal">Perimeter Defense <li style="" class="MsoNormal">Ball Movement <li style="" class="MsoNormal">Own the Glass [/list]
Warriors are going to give the Celtics their second blemmish tonight. Baron Davis has been making an effort to post up point guards and has been dominating his opposition the last couple of games. Rajon Rondo doesn't have the strength to hold position against Baron, and even if KG or Perk rotate over it's going to lead to their man getting free for a dunk.</p> Warriors are clicking right now and know they need to make up ground in the West. This will be a statement game for them to let everyone know We're Back.</p>
And if they lose shapecity does that mean they're not back? lol</p> </p> Celtics 125 - 109 Warriors</p> Pierce 41pts 5rbs 3assts 4stls</p>
I like this Game Thread a lot more CB. I'd definitely keep this one. This will be an interesting game. I wanna see how the Celtics will react after the first loss.
Warriors are ice cold tonight. 1-12 from behind the arc and shooting only 30% from the field. Baron Davis morphed into a chucker again. Baron you were doing so well scoring in the post why did you stop!?!</p> </p>

I can't see the game but judging by the boxscore it looks like the Warriors are fortunate to only be down 13</p>
If you double up the size of the basketball, Ray Allen would still find a way to drain a 3!As I've said, I'm not worried about this guy. :-D
The Warriors are not back. </p> Great all around game by our boys again, on the offensive and defensive end.</p> Player of the game probably Ray Allen.</p> GO CELTICS!!!</p>

They take up more time and at the end of the day, I'd rather have more written material than flashy-looking images. I use these previews on two other Celtics sites I make previews for, and just copy/paste. I still think the other one is great, but I'll likely just go with the write-ups from now on - and probably put a little more substance into it.</p> <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticKing)</div><div class='quotemain'></p> The Warriors are not back. </p> Great all around game by our boys again, on the offensive and defensive end.</p> Player of the game probably Ray Allen.</p> GO CELTICS!!!</p> </div></p> Well, I wouldn't say "great all around game." We still turned the ball over way too much, and while the ball movement was excellent at times, it wasn't consistently excellent throughout the whole game. Good game though, nice to see us take home another 20+ point blowout victory at the Garden, but we need to take better care of the ball.</p> Player of the game, I disagree with you. I'd go with Paul Pierce, followed by Perk. I say Pierce because he did it all tonight. He scored at an efficient rate, was a monster on the offensive glass, made some beautiful passes, and didn't force as much as he has been. Perk did an excellent job as well, I think. When the ball movement died down, he was the one who always made that pretty pass to spark it up again. On top of that, he played excellent help defense. Ray played pretty well, but I'd definitely give the game ball to Pierce.</p> I'm also pretty happy with Rajon Rondo's defensive performance. Before the game, I thought Baron was just going to bulldoze Rondo into a corner and have his way with him, but Rajon cut him off and didn't allow him to get to his spots as easily. Once Baron figured out "hey, this kid isn't gonna let me get by him too easily," he turned into a jump shooter - where he couldn't connect.</p> Another quick note, it was nice to see Tony Allen actually knock down a jumper. I swear to god, that's his first one all season.</p> Oh, and I still love Eddie House. From now on, his new nickname is "Eddie Money."</p> </p>
Yeah CB32, do the game threads this way, it looks cleaner and readable. </p> I still say Allen is the POTG. </p> haha j/k </p>
