I've just been thinking, we HAVE been winning with Vince. And although he seems to facilitate the offense, his struggles on the offensive end have been driving me Vinsane. Do you guys think VC is gonna start puttin up his usual numbers or are we going to see a bunch of sub-20 games the way we have lately? And more importantly? Will his ability to score 25 a game be a direct influence on our potential to be an upper-tier team?

If we keep winning, who cares how many points VC scores?

A lot of times stats are not reflective of wins. He's learning from Kidd that you can have an effect on the game by doing the little things that win ball games. He will have a burst here or there. 22 a night.

God, I hope not. I've enjoyed watching the Vince who plays defense aggressively and doesn't stagnate the offense.

I think it would be great if Carter shared the load with a fully healthy Jefferson. Wouldn't mind or be too suppprised if Jefferson lead the team in scoring. If so, I'd rate Carter the better player for it. Big if.

As long as we win, I wouldn't mind if VC put up 18-22 ppg, as long as it's on good percentages. I'd rather him score 20 points on 50% on a given night than 32 on 33%.

Vince Carter is a better player maker right now, we don't really needhim to score 25 points every night, he should remain some fuels in his tank when the playoffs comes.

Last season, he looked tired when the postseason came.

Bling, you should be JARGON !

I don't know if he is the best playmaker right now. It isn't exactly hard for him, to drive in, draw the double, and pass out the ball to an open teammate. I do agree that we don't need him to score 25 pts, at least in this portion of the season.

Jefferson is not capable of doing this well at all. Carter is good at passing out of the double team and creating for his teammates much better than RJ. So absolutely, Carter is one of the best playmakers on teh team.

No need to resort to name calling, we're all Nets fans here, and we support the TEAM over any one player.

I'm only looking forward to Vince recovering his shooting touch, which, based on last night, it seems he has. Hollinger made a rare astute statement that the ankle injury might have been a blessing in disguise in that it might allow Vince's bum right thumb to heal. It was still taped last night, but not as heavily. And his stroke looked better than in any other game this year.

I think Vince's personal goals this year are entirely centered on how he can improve the team's performance. He's spoken of wanting to do a little of everything this year rather than just be a scorer. And if that means being more of a facilitator and using more energy on defense, being more selective with his shots, while taking a backseat to RJ in scoring, he will do it.

As a VC fan, I'm perfectly fine with this. I want him to experience real team success this year by going deep in the playoffs and performing his best when it matters most. His tangible and intangible value to this team has just been demonstrated in spades. And at this point in his career, I'm much less interested in him leading the team in scoring than in him leading them with all round play deep into the post season. I still expect him to have a career year this year, IF he can stay healthy. And I fully expect that in the biggest moments in the biggest games this year, he will be the one controlling the ball.

Yeah. Vince is doing so well, he can help his teammate to make a open shot, and his efforts on the defense should be discussed by the people.

The last two season, he has really improved his defense ! Very good !

let's wait until VC is 100% with his ankle and thumb, he will be so diffrent.
