Fans in Boston always had a very high opinion of Delonte West, I'm not certain what Seattle fans think. I'm from Philiadelphia and have been a fan of D-West West since he was in college, I wish he was starting but he wants what's best for the team and has always been that way.

He should be starting, but he'd be most effective as a sixth man. He just happens to be on a team where the other point guards are horrible.

If Seattle fans hated Flip running the point they should have hits out for Delonte West. He averages almost 2 and a half TO's and he plays 21 minutes a game. Let him play the two, hoist up his inconsistent jump shot, play decent defense, and try to justify why the best deal we could get for Ray Allen were three role players who have never won at the pro level.

I like West off the bench at either the 1 or the 2. I don't like him starting.
When he comes in off the bench he changes the tempo, looks for his shot and disrupts what the opposing defense has been doing to the Sonics on the perimeter.
When he starts the offense is jerky and sporadic and he fails to get the rest of the team going early on which makes them have to work harder later on to make up for slow starts.
While none of the combos have been good, my preference so far is to start Luke, bring West off the bench and use Earl to mix things up.

I really like Delonte West, whenever he was off the bench he was effective and scored points when we needed it. But it seemed like when he came back to the bench, we were back to the slump like we were before (I'm referring to the Celtics game only!) I haven't watched much of the Sonics games this season because of work & simply lack of interest sometimes...
He's what you want for an offensive spark off the bench, but he should not play heavy minutes or be the everyday starter for the Sonics. Right now I think the Sonics biggest weakness is not having a distributing PG who can also defend the perimeter. If you could morph Watson and Ridnour into one person you'd have your ideal player. Fortunately for the Sonics the upcoming draft class is loaded with point guards.
