So just how bad does Rafer have to shoot to see a change?

It's obious how bad his shooting is affecting the team but just how far down does his shooting % have to drop for us to see a change? How can we expect different results when you continue to trot the same line up out there every night? On a night where Tracy actually attacked the basket, Scola had a good game and Yao somewhat held his own his 1-6 shooting was absolutely the killer. Something had to have happenned between Adelman and Steve behind closed doors because there's no other reason why he should'nt get some PT.

He can't shoot much worse, that's for sure. Adelman wants to see his offense and defense execute in a certain way, I think. Ands he's not confident in Steve to do that. But Steve needs a look. We're just not getting enough production from Rafer, Mike, Luther, and Bonzi right now. A change is needed.

to be honest a "true" pg was never needed in any other of adlemans's systems....maybe he should start Mike or Steve???? *shrugs shoulders*.........I've never been that critical of Rafer and at times I've defended him in the past, but his play on both ends of the floor has been atrocious to watch this season.....

You don't need a true pg but you do need a good shooter, Alston and Mike James are too streaky and unreliable to be that guy. Mike Bibby was also an underrated playmaker in Adelmans system. IMO you have a bunch of really good backup point guards. I would actually trade for Bibby if I was Houston. He would thrive with all those open shots McGrady and Yao give the team.

I thought Francis was really out of shape, and didn't really fit in with Adelman's offense...?

You probably heard that a month ago, now it's false. Francis's play in the Phoenix game showed that he can play within the system, at least better than Rafer has so far.

How about trading for Jason Williams? He was awesome in Adelman's system and is a legit outside shooter. He's really toned down the flashy play and takes much better care of the ball.

Rafer Alston had his best season coming off the bench in Miami.

JWill is in the final deal of his contract as well.

    Snyder and Alston for JWill?

answer is a point guard who attacks the basket and sets up for teamates...Rafer just dribbles past half court and passes ball immediately, even deke could do that geez, alston is not a playmaking point guard he does nothing but stands on perimeter and makes 1 out of every 5 shots. Steve would at least attack the basket and dish off to yao or tmac and get this offense moving, if not Francis than at least start James!!! Anything is better than alston at this point

I like the J-Will idea. Bibby is better, though I don't think we can pull of a deal for him. J-Will is a real possiblity. LET'S GO JAYSON

I also like that Jason Williams deal. He'll be a better three-point shooter than Alston has been this season and having played with Shaq, he'd know how to get Yao the ball in the post.

Not to mention with the extra roster space created we can bring back Mike Harris?
