QUOTE

Eddie House says that while he wanted to return to New Jersey, the Nets weren’t prepared to offer him money or a spot in the rotation. “They just didn’t really have any money,” House said. “They wanted me to take a pay cut and to compete for a spot. I wasn’t going to be in the rotation, I would have had to compete for a spot.” So he signed with Boston.

-Netsdaily.com

House finds home in Mass.

I wonder if Thorn regrets his decision right now. Not only has it hurt the Nets, but now House is helping the competion (though we really aren't competition for Boston). House though is better suited for Boston. Although the Nets need his instant offense, they would never give House much minutes or else it would be keeping Wright (or someone like Marcus, from developing).
It also had to do with the Luxury Tax fear. Thorn is handicapping the team over not paying the LT.
We are going to have to pick up a backup shooting guard at some point after Marcus comes back and Eddie Gill is sent back to DLeague. Could be part of a trade with Magloire if LF keeps him sulking on the bench.

Great job Thorn...you give up on House, but then you go out and get us a genius FA signing in Malik Allen. Thanks alot, asshole.

House averaged close to 10 ppg last year while shooting 42% from three in the little games he played for the Nets. When VC was struggling, Eddie always came in and upheld the offense somewhat. Not to mention he was never trigger-shy. I really wish we had kept him. It's been then playing VC at backup PG.

He would bring the ball up the court(while House was playing), set up the plays and either Marcus or House would get open looks. It was a bit different with Marcus since House doesnt really have any pg skills, but it was still a similar setup.

With all that being said though, we sure miss House this year, or at least during the first couple of games where Boki struggled and we essentially had no outside threat.

We still don't have a decent and consistent three point shooter, when will we have one?

Eddie House still have to prove himself in the playoffs where defense moves up a notch or two. Eddie House did not contribute in his last 3 years of playoffs. Forget last playoffs as he came off an injury. Remember, the Suns didn't pick him up again after he shot only 21% from the 3 point line two playoffs ago..

I don't mind not keeping House, because we have Robert Hite, who is younger and cheaper. House would just have been a temporary fix, but Hite could stick for a couple of years and become a valuable contributor. If Hite wasn't here, and, say, we went with a 13-man roster (which is just ridiculous to even think about), I'd probably be ticked.

Is it sarcasm, or do I not understand Hite's contract situation?
