Remember, no matter how silly it sounds, the fan jinx is real! We're going to "lose" this one tonight.
Go Warriors!

QUOTE (Legacy)

So is the commentator one. They always kill the team's free throw shooting.

That's why Barnett has to talk about the other team's perfect free throw shooting!

This was just a poor game by the Warriors. Too many mental mistakes and missed layups.
But we won anyway!!! Yeah! Good thing that last play was a no call because I wasn't sure if Louis Williams tripped over his own foot or if Monta fouled him. It is possible to trip over your own feet if you are out of control and have tired legs that just won't move as fast as you want to go. But damn!
Kelenna Azubuike is my hero!

QUOTE (custodianrules2)

Kelenna Azubuike is my hero!

Hell yeah! Most improved player of the year award to Azubuike.
DJ Mbenga had some nice blocks in the game, Custodian. I bet you let him slide with the dumb moves he had so far since we picked him up. =P

You do have to credit Philly's defense though, they were very good at shutting down the break and you can tell the W's aren't used to playing teams who are more athletic than they are (sort of like how Dallas was all discombobulated against us in the POs). Nice to get some good wins on the road even when the team is palying like crap and one of your starters has been giving you nothing for 3 games (thats you Al). Monta stepped up the last few games and Pietrus has been playing better and keeping the stupid mistakes at relatively low levels. Not to mention we didn't even have Barnes, one of our team captains. I bet he hits one of those 3's that Pietrus missed at the end of regulation. Barnes is many things, good and bad, but he does hit some big shots when hes open, hes not intimidated by shooting under pressure and he'll add a lot to the toughness and scrapiness that we need to be an effective defensive team, and therefore a better offensive team.
We beat teams we should beat on the road and still dominate at home we can easily make the POs. Baron is playing like a monster in the 4th Q, hopefully he can keep it up all year as long as we can afford to give him 10-12 minutes of rest a night.

Baron played 44 minutes tonight. That worries me that he still needs to play that much for the W's to win against not too experienced Philadelphia team. Harrington has been very ineffective lately, and if he could step it up then maybe Baron could get more rest, although it seemed like he got more rest than what the boxscore says.
Kelenna right now is a serviceable player. He's still young and should improve as he gets more experience, but I feel like he's replaceable, like he's not why this team is winning or losing. If the Warriors were to keep him, how much should they pay him? I just can't see many scenarios where it would be possible to sign him long term.

Didn't think Warriors could do it, but they actually pulled off 4-1 Eastern roadtrip. 5-7 and continue to rise. BTW, how can we give Davis some rest? Davis is playing nearly 40 mins per game, and sooner or later he will break down.

For Azu, he will definitely opt out from his current deal, and we may have to make a choice on him. He really is an inferior version of Richardson except dribble penetration, and he could be 4th or 5th option for this club. He is beneiftting from this system, I don't exactly see a star from him, and it wouldn't be too hard to replace him either. So, I will probably give him 20 mils / 4 years max, and if he can find better deal, I will give him a blessing...

Guys were afraid of Samuel Dalembert inside and plus Reggie Evans wasn't afraid to get physical like he usually is. Andre Miller and Iguodala seemed to play nice defense causing lots of deflections and turnovers. I was really surprised Ellis was on a roll today. He's definitely been heating up.
Also, I agree with Gohn and Baron Davis' impact. I mean, I don't want to take anything away from Kelenna because Kelenna hit a big shot that was well defended. But it was really Baron that shifted the defense enough to give Azu an opportunity for probably the only good look at a catch and shoot play. Nelson is probably telling the Warriors that they don't need to manufacture shoot off the dribble offense, but to set each other up for higher % plays. I'm just glad they won together as a team because finishing the game in overtime showed a lot of mental maturity from the closers in tonight's game.
I was a little mad at Pietrus though, but those were mostly mistakes on offense and stuff he can't help because he's giving up so much size defensively. Here's my example on offense: Time and time again he chooses to do everything as quickly as he possibly can whereas a guy like Ellis can slow up his movement so that defenders will overplay him and fly right by. But Pietrus... he's just go no control or concept of changing his speed so that defenders don't know when to slow up or keep going. That is one raw, uncoached, bad habit player that never worked on details like this from earlier seasons where he basically does the same thing. This is probably one of the reasons why I like Barnes a little more in that he can operate as more of an all-around ball player. Plus, he really improved his shot and ability to create which was absolutely horrible in the years before.
