I'm flabbergasted. I can't stress enough how unbelievably lucky we are to have pulled out this win. We didn't deserve it. In all honesty, we absolutely sucked tonight. We were terrible in the first half of the Orlando game, but we were just horrible throughout this entire game (other than that one run to close out the 2nd quarter). Ray Allen saved this team, even after he had probably his worst shooting night of the season. He never got down and kept playing, shaking the misses off.

Also, people need to give Eddie House a little more credit for this too. He started it all with that deflection, then Paul made a heads up play to find Ray... then you know the rest. But Eddie made it happen - also after having a rough night.

    Again, I'm flabbergasted.

Fuck Paul Pierce... there were 3 different times late in the time where he could have (and should have) cost us, the worst of which hoisting up a turnaround with 10 seconds still left, causing me to throw my glass across the room and shatter into a billion pieces, then changing the channel, and turning back to find the Celtics dancing on the court. I missed the moment, b/c Pierce fucked me over. I'm happy we won butfuck you mother fucker!!!!

Wow. Retarded last play by the Bobcats. If anything, they should've had everyone past the half-court line with the exception of Jeff and/or Raymond, and should've made it a point to get over there.

that coach that fell...wow haha. I think JRich fell, too haha.

ur exactly right...they teach you in high school bball to not make the inbound pass under your own basket....send someone on a fly pattern past the half court line and if they even touch the ball the clock starts...thats coaching right there thats not the players

LOL sounds like you have anger management problems. This team wouldn't be here if they didn't have Pierce.

No, he's right. I'm as big a Paul Pierce fan there is, but he has taken stupid shots at the end of games this year. In Toronto, he milked the clock at the end of the 4th and took a dumb pull-up. Ray luckily bailed him out with a buzzer-beater in OT. In Orlando, Pierce had 5 seconds to operate but took a mind-boggling contested 3 after Doc's play was drawn up to clear space for Pierce to drive. We lose. Then last night, Doc drew up a play to hit KG on the roll - Pierce didn't. He took a pull-up fall-away jumper and bricked it. Ray bailed him out again.

I love Pierce, once again, and he has hit multiple game-winners for this franchise, but he has options beside him now. I don't like all these Paul Pierce iso plays in close games.

Yeah Pierce always trys going for the highlight reel buzzer beater but never makes any of them, if I were a Celtic fan I would not want the ball in his hands during the last possession, like you have the deadliest shooter in Allen so find a way to get him the ball.

Well I wouldn't go as far as saying "I don't want the ball in Pierce's hands at the end of games," because he is undoubtedly one of the better clutch performers of the past decade. Hell, Chauncey Billups even put him in his top 5 clutch shooters of all-time. He does take some questionable shots, and it pisses us off when he misses... but at the end of the day, he has hit so many game-winners/clinchers for us throughout his career it's ridiculous.

I don't understand why Pierce doesn't take it to the basket when he has the ball. He's strong enough and most of the time he either makes it or gets fouled. But when theres a couple of seconds left in the game he decides to just shoot the ball or shoot a three. He can make that too but IMO its much better going to the basket and then if the defense collapses then either get fouled or throw it to Ray or someone else thats open.

Pierce needs to realize he has actual teammates now, and since he's the best slasher on the teamhe should be going to the basket and letting Ray, Posey, and House handle the bulk of the outside shooting.

The thing that always baffles me about Pierce is that he makes a living off penetration, scoring inside, and getting to the free throw line. He does it all game long, yet when the game is on the line, he never drives. It's always a fall-away jumper. Usually him dribbling at the top of the key to milk the clock, 2 dribbles to the left, a little stutter-step, and a fall-away jumper in the face of the defender. Granted, you have to give him credit for knocking half of them down, but he needs to work the ball around now. I don't care if Eddie House is the guy to take the last shot, I want a better one that what Pierce has been doing.

Let's also not kid ourselves here, Pierce has some pretty bad handles. Him going through traffic in the last seconds results in the opposing team getting an easy two. There needed to be a better play than just a ISO for Pierce, heck there needed to be a better game plan all night long, since the Celtics played ISO basketball the whole time.

Old habits are hard to break. But agreed - enough of the PP iso. Not necessary anymore, or as effect as other options. Like moving the damn ball.

Did I mention we are 11-1?
