The biggest game of the year in the NFC and it's not on national television? Who thought this was a good idea?
It's bad enough that DirecTV has a monopoly on NFL Sunday Ticket...this is almost worse. I wish the NFL would wise up.

NFL Network or other networks, or even NFL had no idea, it'd be this important of a game when they made the schedule. Which was made back in like March or whatever.

I agree that the NFL had no idea the game would be this important back when the schedule was made, but it IS this important now. If they really wanted to change it, they could. They OWN the network. And you can't tell me Fox or ESPN wouldn't take the game if it was offered...
Then again, I think putting ANY game on the NFL network is a mistake. At least until the network is at least a part of every basic cable package in the country.

Man, I'm pretty glad I've been getting the NFL Network without paying extra. I don't know why, but they've had it as a free preview ever since it started.

YAY! It's on Sky Sports over here.
Bollocks, it's on at alf 1 in the morning.

The NFLDID think that this would be a game that fans would want to see. That's why it's on the NFL Network schedule. It's part of the NFL's master plan. They want to make NFL fans as mad as possible that they can't get the game, so that they call their cable networks and complain LOUDLY. The NFL wants the complaints to bring the pressure that they need for the cable companies to cave and pay the rates that the NFL Network is demanding. The NFL is being ugly. I read that they want around 80 cents a household, but will make a deal, say 60-65 cents, for large cable companies. Of course, the NFL wants to be (and is demanding to be)a first tier cable company, rather than part of a sports package, because they would rather have EVERYONE paying for their channel rather than just NFL fans. So, the next time people bash players for simply wanting to renegotiate a contract or wantingtheir part of the NFL pie because they are the ones putting their bodies on the line, just remember theincredible greed being shown here by the NFL owners. It has always amazed me how fans blast players but always let owners off the hook.

Maybe a game they'd want to see, but not to this magnitude. No one thought Green Bay would be this good.

This is retarded. They are giveing me NFL Network, FOR ONE DAY! For the fucking Bears game. >.< NFL Network is the gay.

Come on guys, what's more money-whoarding American than this? Fawk the NFL Network. I don't think it's even on NFL Network here in Madison for some reason, so I can't even go to a bar to watch. I've got a few more choice words but this is a family site...grr

Yeah, its the same thing they are doing with the Big Ten network.
If they get these sports network (NFL, BigTen, NBA) on basic cable, that'd be great. NBA of course isn't pulling these shenanigans.
I know people here, in Wisconsin were mad about that when they saw it on the schedule. Packers and Cowboys have the two largest fanbases in the NFL I think (unless Patriots snuck in there), so even if Packers weren't expected to be this good, this was still a game people wanted to see a ton.

I guess I'll have to hit a sports bar... Oh, woe is me. I'm just bitter... This should be a nationally televised game.
End Rant

QUOTE (Denny Crane)

Are the Packers for real?

They're 10-1. Come on.

Both sides are trying to maximize profits so you can't really fault either one. It's up to the fans and viewership to force them into a friendly compromise that benefits YOU.
Express your concerns to them and force them to take action before they lose you as a customer.
It would be great if we could eventually pick and choose from the entire gambit of games on a daily basis on what we want to watch. I hate how cable packages currently work. I don't watch half the channels I have because I'm not interested in it or it's in an entirely different language. I hate being forced to pay for those programs.

I don't have a problem with this. Its just like NBAtv is having games now.
If your get the sports package which is under 10 bucks on most companies, you'll get nfl network.
I have it and I'm watching the game. (at times of course since the celtics are on tonight as well)
And yea the Packers will win.
