Keys to the Game:

Defense: During the Wizards winning streak, our defense improved a good deal. We weren't letting wide open shots go and Blatche/Haywood provided tough post defense. Now it seems as though we forgot about defense after thanksgiving. The Warriors and Grizzlies had no problem getting in their rythem.

Rebounding: The Wizards have proven that if they crash the boards it's a much easier path to victory for them. The Mavericks are only a decent rebounding team so if they beat us in our own game it will be much harder to win on monday night.

Get the Confidence Back: Without Arenas, the Wizards confidence will surely be shaken. The Wizards must come into Dallas believing they can win or it will be a long night for us because for the Mavericks, winning these games like this consistently, is part of what puts them in the elite category. However, they are coming off a tough loss against the Bucks, let's see if the Wizards can take advantage.

Key Matchup:

[IMG][IMG]
Antonio Daniels vs. Devin Harris

This point guard matchup should be fun to watch. Antonio Daniels, a veteran who has established himself as one of the top role-players in this league vs. a young stud PG who wants to take his game to the next level. If things had gone differently, Devin Harris may be the Wizards backup PG right now doing what Antonio Daniels is. Both players bring high energy and are very capable of pushing the ball up-court. Antonio is coming off of a double-double and is looking to continue to get the most of Gilbert's injury. It will be very interesting to see two players in very different stages of their careers meet.

Prediction: 103-98 Wizards, the Mavericks are on a slide right now and the Wizards have to get back on track if they want to be a competetive team without Gilbert. I may be optomistic right now but a win like this could do wonders for the Wizards confidence.
