for weeks, the Nets have been saying Krstic's knee is fine, it's just that he needs to get into basketball shape, following a setback.

But here is what Krstic said himself yesterday on the Nets own website.

“Right now I get tired and I really can’t get better but it’s going to take some time and maybe in a month, two months it’s going to be much better. But right now I’m going through some really tough times for me because I’m really tired and my body can’t really respond really good because my knee is still not ready to play every second night, between practice and everything. That’s why I didn’t get really better but in time it’s going to come, I know. I was good in the beginning and in training camp, now I’m going down and slowly going up in maybe a couple of weeks, maybe a month, two months, who knows.”

You now have to be concerned whether he will ever be the same.

certainly, it's a scary thought. all the best to his recovery. luckily, we have boone and sean developing quite nicely for now.

That concerned me the moment that an ACL tear was announced. It wasn't that long ago that that injury was more often career ending than not. Medical knowledge and rehab techniques have certainly improved since, but it's still a devastating injury that can mean permanent impairment . . . and that's just on the physical side. What it does to the mentality of a player is an issue all to itself.

I think Krstic is a tough kid. You don't grow up playing in the shadow of regular bombings without developing some mental toughness. But he is clearly going to take a lot longer to get back than everyone charted.

Nenad, stay away from shellfish and purine rich foods. Drink lots of cherry juice. Try Infrared therepy on the knee.

Well, atleast he'll comea hell of a lot cheaper now but yeah, I don't think we should bank on Krstic just returning to form soon, knee issues for big men are a serious thing. This really sucks, he had such a bright career before him.

Damn. Oh well, I guess he'll just have to take more time off. And that Sean will have to get more minutes, to make up for Nads' scoring.

Not a good sign at all. I won't say his career is done though. He's got tendinitis in his knee - that much we know - so maybe that accounts for the knee difficulties? It's not like his ACL is getting harassed everytime he runs up and down the court. But then again, I'm no M.D.

Many players have made a return to sports after the ACL injury, but few has managed to regain their preinjury form. I expected Nenad to loose something in his game. It sucks [IMG]

Does anyone know if he's still practicing with team or is he being "shut down" completely for a while?

On a similar note, KMart injured his knee again.

Serious anti-kudos to the Nets staff for rushing Krstic back before he was ready
