I saw this a couple of days ago on CL.

    - 7 out of their 11 games have been at home

    - The toughest team they've played so far this season has been Orlando (which they lost),other then that they've played teams like the Pacers, Hawks, Heat, Nets, etc and this is will be a trend for the entire year. They will play one good team, then two weeks of weak teams, then another good team, and so on.

    - They won't play Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, or San Antonio until 2008

    - Their longest road trip this year is 5 games

Now I'm not taking anything away from the Celtics, I believe they are a pretty good team, but I think we'd better hold on before we start putting them up with San Antonio, Dallas, or Phoenix. Their schedule thus far into the season has been piss easy, and I'll go as far as to say they probably have one of the easiest schedules of any team this season. The only tough team they've played this season was the Orlando Magic, whom they lost to.

I couldn't agree more. People are awfully anxious to assume that this team is unstoppable. In my opinion we will see what this team is all about when we're 60 games into the season and the big 3 have played 40+ minutes a night consistently. Their lack of depth is what will kill them, expecially come playoff time. Who can really get their own shot and more importantly make it when those 3 goto the bench?

If the Bobcats almost beat them without Gerald Wallace, they are definetly unstoppable. Anything can happen in the NBA.

There's been one or two good bench additions to this team. Namely Posey and House.. maybe even Pollard.

After that they are piss weak. They're great right now but the REAL boston will come out later in the season

I agree, I posted a similar thread in the Raptors discussion forum. About Celtics having the easiest schedule possible to sell their jerseys. They are pathetic in my opinion for all the credit they get. They will easily lose to a good team. And they are featured on the front page of nba.com on a nightly basis. Ridiculous.

having the league's best record will do that for you. a team can only beat the teams on its schedule, and we lost two nailbiters so far. and pretty much every win has been a blowout, many of them against playoff teams from last year.

I'm not taking anything away from this Celtics team. I think they are a great team, and I believe they will make it to the Finals. But I'm not willing to rank them up with San Antonio/Dallas/Phoenix just yet. In my opinion, they are still a step below the three until they prove to me they are not. The blowouts are nice, I'm not taking anything away from them, but I want to see how this team can do against top notch competition. And so far into the season, they have only played one top team in Orlando, which they lost to. Again, I believe the Celtics are a great team, I'm just not buying into all this hype until I actually see them perform against top teams. There is no denying the fact that the Celtics schedule has been piss easy this season, and that trend will continue throughout the season

Boston hasn't played San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, or Houston and came a bad bounce away from losing to Charlotte.

That doesn't mean anything and last time I remember that Mavs lost to the Warriors and the Rockets to the Jazz so beating those teams means nada. Every team can beat each other, they just have to show up and play, they're all professionals. (even the knicks) haha

the thing you are forgetting about the Warriors and Jazz is that they were match up nightmares for the mavs and Rockets. But hey, the Jazz are actually a good team, borderline elite.

What Brian is simply saying is that despite the Celtics record, we shouldnt put them up there with the Spurs suns, etc until they hit the harder part of their schedule and how tested their depth is.

No one is putting them up there and it doesn't matter if we do anyways until we win the championship. Anything less than that and people will say things. Just like Qrich still isn't impressed. (even though his team got embarrassed)

I agree with Brian. The C's still need to prove themselves. Besides, with exception to KG and Allen. They look a lot like the same bad team from last season.

I agree that they're probably overrated a little bit at this point. The schedule has been favorable, and they haven't been tested much yet. However, their 2 losses were an OT game and a 2 point loss to Orlando, so they're 3 points away from being undefeated. That's pretty amazing no matter who you're playing.

Bumping this thread back up again (sorry Celtic fans).

I can't help but to feel this team is a bit overrated. Like I said before, their schedule has been piss easy. Sure, they have pretty much destroyed teams during their winning streaks, but how many of those teams will actually be threats come playoff time? They just lost to the Pistons tonight, and although you cannot really blame the entire team for the loss, look at the Celtics record this season. Their three losses come at the hands of Orlando (at the time they were one of the top teams in the east), Cleveland (Finals last season), and now Detriot, who are one of the top teams in the east, along with Boston. I'm not trying to bash this team, because I do believe the Celtics are a great team. Their blowouts this season have been extremely impressive, and I do not think the Spurs/Mavs/Suns could have achieved similar success. But looking over their schedule so far this season, it kind of pisses me off how such a talented team would wind up with such an easy schedule (but obviously it's not their fault).

Now I don't know if people here are hyping them up as much, but media sure as hell has, and it's getting tiring for me to hear about how great the Celtics are. How about giving them an actual test before we proclaim them the best in the league? Because I still don't think they're better than the big three in the west

They almost won the game, if not for couple of mistakes at the end. (pierces shot and tony allens foul)

And they're still 20-3 and remember that those 3 loses were very close and one went into OT.
