The nets were always known for their power forwards and inside game.
kmart, jayson williams, armon gilliam, pj brown, buck williams, derrick coleman. With all these big men in our pedigree we have Bill Cartwright as our bigman coach??!!!!!!!! That makes no sense to me. bill has championships and was a very smart player but i would want my bigs to learn from someone like buck or gilliam b4 him.

just a thought.

Thought Id bump this thread. Damn good point. However do we really want Jayson and Sean Williams working together?
"I smell a stcom!"

Funny, I was thinking the same thing today when I was watching the game and they showed Kareem on YES and they were talking about how he works with Bynum. I'd love to see Buck or Coleman or even Chocolate Thunder in to help Sean out.

Double D was never all that fundamentally sound as a player iirc so I dunno how much help he would be. In fact, tho' I haven't looked it up, his rebounding numbers were probably worse than even Cartwright's. And that's even tho' he's one of the best centers to play on the Nets for any length of time (which really doesn't say much or says a lot depending on how you want to look at it.) Coleman? pass. Buck. yup. The Hammer...maybe?
