Basically what I've suspected from watching the Bulls so far this year. The opposing coaches could care less about putting defensive players on anyone else on this team except Gordon. The opposing teams (everyone) are just focusing their entire defense of makign sure Gordon is constantly being doubled, cut off, no room to penetrate, etc.</p>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"We trap [Ben] Gordon on the pick-and-roll," said a third coach. "There doesn't seem anyone else who can beat you now. I don't really have an explanation."</div></p>

Like I've said time and time again. Gordon has been doing poor shooting percentage wise, but thats on the other guys. Gordon is such an improved passer this year, but has nothing to show for it in the assist column because his crappy teammates can't make a shot. Seems like other coaches feel the same way. Guys who draw doubles and triples and successfully navigate the ball out of them are generally valuable in this league, and thats what Gordon is doing...unfortunately, they have no value on a team where no one else can make a wide open shot.</p>

If hes getting the ball to the open man when hes double teamed, it is up to that player to knock down the shot. That would go a long way toward helping them win some games. The Bulls have lived and died by the jumpshot for a couple of years now, this is what happens when you have no consistent post presence to take pressure off the wing players.</p>

Well, you took my Sam Smith article for this morning. But in practice Deng has been hurt and although he hasn't played great, most everyone has played bad.</p>

I think the point is sort of valid, but the flip side of it is that it kind of shows a concerted defense can pretty much shut Gordon down. Contrast that to the real premier scorers and "go-to" guys in the league who face double-teams every night and do just fine.</p>
