The New York Daily News reported yesterday that the Sixers do not plan to replace Maurice Cheeks with Larry Brown anytime soon. "The idea expressed in private by team execs is to keep losing during the post-Allen Iverson rebuilding era to secure a top draft choice in June," columnist Mitch Lawrence wrote.

Lawrence also suggested that Brown would take over for Cheeks next season. He added that the Sixers are open to fielding offers for Andre Miller, something the team vehemently denied last week.

Billy King, the 76ers' president and general manager, called the report "100 percent fiction," adding that "there is not a fact in the story that is true." -- Philadelphia Inquirer
