I think it only supports wma or mp4 at the moment. i think the fall update is supposed allow divx support.

Get a PSP. They're fun, and they have plenty of fun games. And you can play music, videos, go on the internet(although the browser sucks)...and you can do all this on the go, wherever you want.

PSP? God no, that thing has so many issues with LCD lights going out constantly, even with good care.

I bought the PS3 along with a copy of NHL 08. Stunning game visually and top notch gameplay. Few issues and very realistic.

Wow, I have no LCD lights going out, and I've had it a year. Am I lucky, or does it just take time? Hm.
PS3 ain't so bad, just too much money I'd rather not spend. I'm not big on consoles, I'd rather play on the go.

Nah, I'm still happy with my 20 year old Zenith which still has better sound quality then what is offered today for such a large and exceedingly heavy box TV. lol I've been meaning to play Uncharted, but I had to play Virtua Tennis 3 and Assassin's Creed first. Excellent games.

Excellent games.
I've heard that Assassins is very repetitive. I actually bought it the day it came out, played it for two hours and the next day I bought Uncharted, played that for two weeks (I'm about to finish my 2nd time through and start a 3rd...any day ) and kind of forgot about Assassins.
People who say it is repetitive are those that button mash. If you take the time to learn all of the attacks and counters it isn't repetitive in fighting. The only things that get a bit annoying at times are having to perform time related tasks that are quite cheesy and climbing way too many viewpoints. Other then this, the game is fantastic and is a shame to pass up on.
Agreed on Assassins....initially. I will say, it's an incredible game and one the best looking games I've ever seen. However, once you get to about the 5th assassination you really start to notice the repetition. The game really is an incredible achievement, but it simply needs more variance in missions instead of doing the same five things over and over again. Hopefully they fix this flaw with AC2.

The 80gig is completely backwards compatible for playing your PS2 games. So if that's your concern, you want to buy the 80gig.

The 20 and 60 gig are "fully" compatible, but there are still not some games that work and will never be able to.

Yep and you can't get the 60 GB anymore because it is out of production. The 80 GB console isn't entirely backwards compatible, but actually plays most games. Note that Sony made some changes so that other games that haven't worked well before such as Winning Eleven will now be playable. Also, remember that the 80 GB console compatibility isn't of the same quality as the first two console releases and the 60 GB. This is to save you some money, otherwise if the compatibility was the same as the previous releases the 80 GB would cost $600 or more instead of $500.
Best Buy is now discontinuing the 80 GB PS3. There's also a big rumor that a White PS3 will be hitting the stores this Monday and the 399 price will be dropped by another 100 dollars to 299. Sony has also reported that they've cut manufacturing costs from 800 bucks a pop to 400, which would explain the price drop.
