Ugh. I can't imagine people in the USA wanting to live in another country. So I don't think the UN index is anything more than a swipe at the USA.

I think this answer constantly changes depending on your needs. I don't like how this survey lumps everything into one country either. In California alone the lifestyle in LA vs. SF is completely different.
I found this stat to be alarming and sad... Life expectancy Zambians the lowest, at 40.5.

Health care and education alone is enough of a reason for me. Also, I agree with Ian about people's needs. That's why I want to leave because my needs rely elsewhere.

By Grandpa was an architect there, which sways that (very luxurious life style).
I might be going there this Summer, along with Tanzania.

I wouldn't mind getting some of that UAE money.
And to Max, who wonders where you can get shot and eat at the same time; you should come visit Camden.

I have a house in the Swiss alps and I love it there. It's the most serene and comfortable place on Earth. I'd much rather live there than the U.S at this point. Also, I'm going to Norway with a foreign exchange girl I met at my school this summer. Should be a lot of fun.

Germany is for me.
Bought tickets yesterday for whole family, going to Düsseldorf from Dec. 26th to Jan. 15th. (visiting family in München, Bielefeld, Stuttgart, and of course Düsseldorf)

I think the only country besides the US i'd like to live in is probably Australia because of how nice and laid back it seems. I could see myself living in Vancouver B.C. as well but I don't really view at least that part of Canada as some different country. Although it is, obviously.

U.S.A >> All. If you don't like it here, then who the hell cares? Just leave!
If you disagree, we'll kill you!

Outside of that, it'd be Canada, England, and Australia, and maybe Russia (Moscow only).

After travelling I could never live in the UK, but I have found New Zealand to be pretty awesome and bizzarely Portugal is amazing if you are self imployed doing web design, so your not earning Portuguese euros... Cheap, safe, laid back, nice weather... life is grand.
