Timberwolves center Theo Ratliff said Monday he probably would have exploratory surgery on his injured right knee.

Ratliff had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in 1998. He also said he had microfracture surgery, though it apparently wasn't the serious version of the procedure that can threaten careers. He hasn't played in the past four games because of the latest setback in a career hampered by various injuries.

"It's still popping," Ratliff said of his knee. "More than likely, I'm probably going to have to get it scoped. Go in and check it out and see what's going on." -- St. Paul Pioneer Press

[*]Ratliff's trip last week to renowned orthopedic surgeon James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., didn't provide an answer, so Ratliff said he hopes this week to see a Waco, Texas, doctor that has helped Houston star Tracy McGrady with his knee. -- Minneapolis Star Tribune

I'm shocked it took so long for his yearly injury to pop up.

Sucks for the Wolves, in a way, but at the same time, it's good for them. More minutes available for Cookie, Toine, and of course - Mad Dog.

    Theo - call it quits.
