<span class="sommario">Mahamadou Diarra has admitted that press speculation linking him with a move away from Real Madrid has distracted him this week as he prepares for the Champions League encounter with Werder Bremen.</span></p>

The Mali international was named as one of the player's that Los Merengues could be preparing to off-load in January and, despite denials from the club, it has affected him.

"I don't have any problems with the club," Diarra explained. "Only rumours have come out in the press lately. The club always calls me to tell me anything they want or think about before anyone else hears about it.

"Last year, for example, I had some problems with (Fabio) Capello and the club rang me up to tell me that things didn't work that way over here.

"Everything's fine this year. I'm on the best team in the world I don't see how there could be a problem. I hope the Club is also happy with me.

"Everyone's entitled to have an opinion. I'm not worried as long as it doesn't come from the board members and the coaching staff. I'm calm. This is football. We always have to do our best for the team. There's no problems if we do.

"I've been lucky enough to play in every game apart from two in which I was injured. I wouldn't have been able to play so much if he didn't value me. The coach's way of thinking and working motivates me.

Diarra admitted that he has yet to produce his best form in a Real Madrid shirt this season, but is confident that he will be back to his best soon.

"I know myself very well and I know I'm not playing as well as I did the last six months of the previous campaign," he continued. "I'm doing slightly worse so far. I know I can do much better and help the team more to win titles."</div></p>
