After starting the first 12 games this season, Biedrins found himself coming off the bench Wednesday at ARCO Arena for the second consecutive game. Last season, that situation spelled trouble for the young center; over the final 10 games, when he was pulled out of the starting lineup in favor of Al Harrington, Biedrins lost more than half his scoring, averaging 4.7 points per game in that stretch run.

Wednesday, Nelson stuck with his same small-ball lineup for a second straight game: Baron Davis, Monta Ellis, Stephen Jackson, Matt Barnes and Harrington. This time, Biedrins is handling the move more easily. He scored 12 points — going 6-for-6 from the floor — and grabbed six rebounds in the first half alone against the Kings.

That's fine as long as he finishes and gets minutes. Our center and power forward spots have been in limbo because of these weird small lineups we have that favor guards. So this is to be expected. If we had a Dwight Howard or Andrew Bogut or LaMarcus Aldridge we'd definitely be building around the inside game a lot more. I'm hoping Biedrins can score on his own in the low post but he's a lightweight center that should be playing a defensive power forward. He's got to do what the coach tells him to do for his role. But I would like to see Biedrins work on isolations and just get greedy offensively, but of course flip it back out to drain time on the clock or find open shooters or cutters.

That Beans at 21 is playing like a star and we....not exactly with much beef..want to go with a lineup of mostly G's in a game where that's no plus is just another symptom.

It's like Van Gogh was a legendary great artist...but would you hire him to run a business or would you feel good if he was dating your sister?

Nellie is likewise a damaged genius. He can be very creative doing his "thing" but he's just too locked into his thing-smallball,to be able to see it as one tactical approach. He sees it as the whole point. We got Nellie-Mully togather on some mad crusade on behalf of midsize SF's with 3 range and no hops or muscle. That's not the bottom line to look at.. I could care less whether we start 5 Munchkins or 5 Wookies if it's gonna aim us for the championship.

I see no concensus you can play all-guard or all PF. So far....the winners have had SOME balance.

here are a few good teams we CAN beat going mini. There's a few others we have trouble with even using what size we do have. We have pissed away some chances to have some size or power or rebound equality, and that's still officially very low on the To-Do list in spite of it being the obvious place for big improvements.

Nellie's era here is gonna be short. He's given what he can and odds are that it gets us to where we can be more of a darkhorse/spoiler,and yet it will be left to the next guy to finish the job, take a team that's a winner-in some situations...and evolve it into a team that can win in any situation.

Yeah, I also think Nelly might be damaging Biedrins' development a little bit. Why not get the guy to weigh up to 250 and let him work on some centers or power forwards? I bet the guy could be pro. He's already improved his free throw shooting remarkably, so you know he's working hard on other aspects of his game like inside footwork. He's a smart, quick footed player with great hands. So why not give it a go, Nelly? Feed the beast.

Not only is his FT shooting up dramatically, but his assists are up 55% this year over last while his minutes are only up 7%. And his turnover rate has also gone down slightly despite him having some fumble-itis problems that I think are a fluke. I don't know why people are bashing him, he is doing a stellar job and continues to improve.

What stumps me is why you wouldn't attept to make a guy who is leading the NBA in FG% an offensive focal point. That just makes no sense. I know Baron has to shoot some, but I'd feel a lot better with Andris at 63.3% taking some of those shots over Baron at his pathetic 41.7%. That is a large difference and can easily be the difference between winning and losing.
