<span class="sommario">Werder Bremen president J&uuml;rgen Born has revealed that if Diego really does want to join Real Madrid then he would be prepared to let him go.</span></p>

The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move to the Bernab&eacute;u in recent months and has admitted that he would one day like to play for one of European football's major clubs.

While Born does not want Diego to go anywhere, he admitted that it would be difficult to prevent the player from going if he really wanted to.

"We do not even want to think about," the Werder supremo told Cadena SER radio station. "But if Diego really wanted to go to Real Madrid I would not oppose him going."

Despite that, Born stated that he will everything he can to persuade the 22-year-old to stay at the Weserstadion for as long as possible.

"Diego is an important player," he continued. "He would only leave if he wanted to go and we were not able to keep him.

"But we are going to do everything possible to keep him and I do not want to imagine him not playing for my team."</div></p>
