Barcelona frontman Samuel Eto'o has indicated he will be with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon when the African Nations Cup kicks off in Ghana next year...

According to Marca, Samuel Eto'o has seemingly restated his desire to line up with Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations in January.

This puts to rest rumours and speculations that the striker will be with the Catalan giants during the competition, thus being unavailable for his National team.

Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain had earlier this week reportedly met with Samuel Etoo's representative Jose Maria Mesalles to discuss the issue: there, it was made clear to Txiki the Cameroonian will be present in Ghana.

Eto'o fell victim to a thigh injury in the beginning of September and just recently marked his return from the sidelines to full training. Now, the player faces a battle to return to full fitness before the Nation's Cup begins and his team mates will need him to be in form.

According to reports on BBC Sports, the player was evasive about revealing his plans, speaking during promotional event earlier this week.

When asked if he will be playing for Cameroon he said "All I want to do is play football. This issue about the Cup has to be resolved between my club and the Cameroon federation".

He has previously been amongst the African players urging the Continent's football association, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to re-schedule the biennial event as to avoid clashing with European leagues.

This view is also shared by Senegalese playmaker El-Hadji Diouf and several football analysts inside and outside the continent.

But Eto'o, who was unveiled as the face of the 2010 World Cup, will now have his sights set firmly on helping his country clinch the African Nations Cup Title for the fifth time since its inception.

Cameroon will be facing the defending champions Egypt, Sudan and the Chipolopolo of Zambia in the group stages of the competition.
