QUOTE

Greeted with a mixture of cheers and boos during player introductions - but booed lustily when he touched the ball during the game - the Lakers' Derek Fisher was obviously caught by surprise Friday night at EnergySolutions Arena.
"I'll be honest with you," Fisher said after the Jazz's 120-96 victory. "I'm choosing not to make a comment about the crowd reaction. . . . I'll think about what happened, but that's about all the attention I want to give it, really."
Last summer, the Jazz released Fisher from his contract so he could find a team in a city where his young daughter could receive specialized treatment for a rare form of eye cancer.
Less than three weeks after leaving the Jazz, he signed with the Lakers, apparently creating some ill will among fans in Utah.
Asked about returning to Utah for the first time since Game 5 of last spring's Western Conference finals, Fisher said, "It was emotional. A lot took place in the one season my family and I were here. . . . Thinking back to the playoffs and what we were able to accomplish as a team, it was emotional coming back into the building tonight."
Fisher finished with three points on 1-for-8 shooting in 20 minutes.

why on earth would anyone ever boo Fish .. He could miss 20 straight shots and turn the ball over, and I could never boo him. He's a standup guy with a standup attitude

Thats pretty disrepectful of the Jazz fans if you ask me. It wasn't his choice that he had to leave Utah, he had to care for his daughter.

I've noticed over the years, Jazz fans don't like anyone outside their hometown.

GS and Utah fans dislike him because of his decisions on the court. Dude chucks like hes Kobe Bryant, misses layups constantly, hes a terrible passer, crappy defender. He is a good spot up shooter, team leader, classy guy, good influence on younger players but hes got an inflated ego that goes under the radar. He acts like hes an all-star with all of the shots he takes and he actually demanded a trade from GS because he thought he should start (this is when they had Baron, J-Rich, and Monta and he thought he should start over/alongside them), then he bitched and moaned and almost didn't report to camp when we sent him to Utah because he wanted to go to Cleveland or Miami.

Also, theres a lot of low class Jazz fans who go to the games in Utah. During the GS-Utah playoff series several GS players said that fans were yelling racial slurs at them (starts with an "n" if that wasn't obvious enough for you). Plus all they do there is boo, I have never heard them cheer anything in my life. All you hear from that arena is booing everything that isn't beneficial to the Jazz.
