NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - Albert Haynesworth returned tothe lineup and the Tennessee Titans returned to the win column.

The defensive tackle returned from a hamstring injury and helpedshore up Tennessee's defense in a 28-20 win over the HoustonTexans at LP Field on Sunday.


The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Titans (7-5).

Vince Young threw two touchdown passes in the third quarter,rallying Tennessee from a three-point deficit at halftime.

It was a costly defeat for the Texans (5-7), who lost threeplayers to injuries. Quarterback Matt Schaub exited with a leftshoulder injury after being sacked by Antwan Odom with 2:54left in the first quarter.


Texans guard Fred Weary left on a cart with an injury with 8:42left in the second quarter and center Chris White left with aninjury with 5:13 left.


Ron Dayne barely made it into the end zone on a 1-yard run onthird-and-goal, giving the Texans a 7-0 lead with 10:23 left inthe first quarter. Tennessee challenged the play, but the callon the field stood.


Dayne accounted for 49 yards on the nine-play, 74-yard drive,rushing for 41 yards and catching an 8-yard pass from Schaub.

Tennessee answered with a 1-yard touchdown run by LenDale White,tying the score at 7-7 with 4:03 left in the first quarter.White went out with a finger injury in the second half.

Kris Brown kicked a 45-yard field goal, giving the Texans a 10-7lead with 1:04 left in the first half.


The Titans reclaimed the lead, 14-10, when Roydell Williams gotbehind the Houston secondary for a 43-yard touchdown pass fromVince Young with 11:15 left in the third quarter.


Young threw an 11-yard TD pass to Justin Gage, increasing thelead to 21-10 with 47 seconds left in the third quarter.

Houston narrowed the deficit to 21-17 on a 20-yard pass fromSage Rosenfels to Andre Johnson with 12:14 left.


Tennessee capitalized on a turnover when Chris Brown scored on a7-yard run, giving the Titans a 28-17 lead with 9:44 left.

Donnie Nickey gave the Titans great field position when herecovered Jacoby Jones' fumble on a punt return at the Texans'29-yard line two plays before Brown scored.


Brown kicked a 50-yard field goal, narrowing the deficit to28-20 with 4:54 left.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - At a team meeting Saturdaynight, Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher told his players hewanted touchdowns, not field goals. The team responded.

Vince Young threw a pair of touchdown passes and running backsLenDale White and Chris Brown ran for one each as the Titansposted a 28-20 victory over the injury-riddled Houston Texans atLP Field on Sunday.


Fisher told the Titans he only wanted to see placekicker RobBironas take the field if Tennessee (7-5) was kicking extrapoints or kicking off.


"Obviously, that's the difference in the ballgame: the offensivescoring," Fisher said. "We kind of put an end to a drought.It's been difficult getting into the end zone for us."

The win ended a three-game losing streak for the Titans, whowere held to a pair of field goals in a 35-6 loss at Cincinnatilast week.


Young completed 21-of-31 passes for 248 yards and twotouchdowns. His scoring passes to Roydell Williams and JustinGage in the third quarter provided a 21-10 lead for the Titans,who had trailed by three at halftime.


"I really feel like Roydell and Gage did a great job of catchingthe ball," Young said. "All the receivers did. Guys are goingto bring (players) in the box to try to stop the run andthey're basically telling us, 'Vince, you can't make that throwand the receivers can't make that catch.'


"So we took it upon ourselves to show these guys on the edgeyou're going to have to cover the receivers and I can make thethrow down the field."


It was a costly loss for the Texans (5-7), who lost threeoffensive players to injuries: quarterback Matt Schaub(dislocated left shoulder), right guard Fred Weary (fracturedright tibia) and center Chris White (MCL in left knee).

"I think there is a little bit of hope for our quarterback,"Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "This may not be a season-endinginjury, but it is for Fred and I think it is for Chris White.So we will go from there."


Schaub was injured after being sacked by Antwan Odom with 3:03left in the first quarter.


"We will run some more tests and everything," Schaub said. "Ineed to get a MRI on it. It is very frustrating. I was seeingthe field real well and felt good at the beginning of the game."

Schaub also was injured during a 38-36 loss to the Titans onOctober 21. Backup Sage Rosenfels completed 17-of-30 passes for185 yards and one touchdown.


"You never want to see a teammate, much less a fellowquarterback, go down," Rosenfels said. "It wasn't a goodfeeling the last time we played them and it wasn't a goodfeeling this time. We tried to get back to our brand offootball. That's running the football and some play-action offthat. We did some good things, but it wasn't enough."

Houston narrowed the deficit to 21-17 when Rosenfels hit AndreJohnson with a 28-yard touchdown pass with 12:20 left. Johnsonhad a big day with nine receptions for 116 yards and one TD.

Tennessee got a big break when rookie Jacoby Jones fumbled apunt and Donnie Nickey recovered it at the Texans 29-yard linewith 10:40 left. Two plays later, Brown scored on a 7-yard runto boost the Titans' lead to 28-17 with 9:49 left.

"I was trying to make a play and I made a mistake," said Jones,who muffed the catch. "I should have made a fair catch, but Itried to make a move and took my eye off the ball. We took aloss and the burden is on my shoulders."


The Titans' defense got a boost from the return of defensivetackle Albert Haynesworth, who missed the previous three gameswith a hamstring injury.


"It was good to be back out there," Haynesworth said. "We'vejust got to get back to work and keep grinding and I've got toget back to my normal self. I just want to get out there andget healthy and be 100 percent."


Houston's Ron Dayne led all rushers with 86 yards and one TD on18 carries.


White, who rushed for 60 yards on 12 carries, dislocated hisfinger in the third quarter, but should return next week.
