Re: NBA: ORLANDO (14-4) at LA LAKERS (9-7)

Turaif gets injured and we lose a game that was perfectly winnable until the final few minutes. So much for Sasha and his shooting. I t hought they took too many threes in this game.

Rather than look into the past, Lewis was more interested injust getting the win - especially after Friday's loss vs. thehigh-powered Phoenix Suns.

"It's important because we don't want to get used to losingballgames," Lewis said. "We want to be consistent throughoutthe year."

The Magic secured Sunday's victory with a decisive 9-0 run, capped by Keyon Dooling's steal and emphatic dunk to make it100-93 with 1:44 left. Dooling deflected Lamar Odom's errantpass to teammate Keith Bogans, who threw it back to Dooling forthe big finish.

"I was disappointed with the way we finished tonight," Lakerscoach Phil Jackson said. "We seemed to run out of gas in thecourse of the ballgame - minutes played and conditioning rightnow."

The 21-year-old Howard is having a dominant season, averaging23.8 points and 15.0 rebounds entering Sunday's play. Theformer No. 1 overall selection also ranks among the leagueleaders with 15 double-doubles.

"It feels good here. I knew coming in, it was going to be atough game for us," Howard said. "I think they are No. 2 or No.3 in the league in scoring. So we had to put up a lot ofshots.

"I think we did a great job of staying composed through all theadversity that happened throughout the game and got a good win."

While he didn't post numbers as big in this one, Howard made hispresence felt against emerging Lakers center Andrew Bynum, whohas grabbed at least 10 rebounds 11 times this season.

Bynum had just 10 points and six rebounds on Sunday. And Lakerssuperstar Kobe Bryant admitted that his team had a plan againstHoward - even if it didn't work to perfection.

"We just wanted to be physical with him, limit his touches andtry to keep him from catching it so deep in the paint," Bryantsaid.

Bryant collected 28 points, six rebounds and five assists forLos Angeles, which has lost five of its last seven games.

"They executed better than we did," the two-time scoringchampion said. "We did a pretty good job on our rotations, theyjust knocked down shots right in our face."

Re: NBA: ORLANDO (14-4) at LA LAKERS (9-7)

The crucial stretch in this game where the Lakers eventually fell too, far behind was when Mihm subbed in. It was in the beginning of the 4th quarter and Mihm was atrocious for us. Mihm was getting outplayed by Adonal Foyle and had two or three straight turnovers. He looked completely dazed on the court.

Another key stretch was when the Lakers cut the lead to two points and then Kobe chucked a 3 pointer for no damn reason and it led to a Magic fast break the other end with Mo Evans hitting a jumper. Kobe tried to retliate and turned ball over and Orlando scored on a break away dunk and the foul. The lead went from 2 points with Lakers having momentum to a 7 point Orlando lead.

I thought the team played good enough to win this game and if Odom makes those two WIDE open shots Kobe set him up (one on the baseline, one behind the arc) with this game probably goes into overtime.

Dwight Howard was very impressive in this game and should start getting mentioned as one of the top 10 players in the league and possibly the best center in the NBA. With Yao's inconsistency this season, Howard might have surpassed him and the scary part is Howard isn't even a polished player yet. Once he learns how to shoot free throws and develops a few more low post moves he'll be ridiculous to handle.

Bynum played very well in this game againd Howard, but he took a few plays off and Howard made him pay. I think Bynum rushed his shot a few times and also went with finess instead of a power dunk and drawing contact. The one play that pissed me off was when Howard sprinted down the court and Bynum jogged after him leading to Howard making a catch and a dunk on him in transition. That should never happen especially down the stretch of a game. Bynum's shot blocking (7) was great last night. He even got his bestfriend Mo Evans on one and they shared a moment after it.

Keyon Dooling gave us a lot of trouble last night. He was too, quick on the perimeter and got to the rim once he turned the corner on his man. Keyon has developed a nice mid-range game for himself to create the space as well.

The Lakers need to get Bynum A LOT more touches down the stretch. Kobe was forcing too, much last night going 1 on 3 seemingly trying to show up his ex-teammate Mo Evans. Kobe also played lazy on defense and was caught in no man's land quite a few times last night.
