I'll admit it, I was completely against bringing Gill to this team. But I was surprised to find that when he got playing time, he actually played pretty good D (better than what DA and Marcus ever brought us) and hasn't completely shittied up the offense (A la Mags and Malik).

I wanna see him spell Kidd some more. I think he could help out this team more than anyone could expect. We should keep him around, and either A. send Darrell packing or B. make him a bench player/coach.

Hes okay for what hes supposed to do.

I will say this, with Marcus' slow recovery and Armstrong's age and injury problems I think theres a good chance the Nets keep him the whole year.

He's just a place-filler with no potential to get better and no standout skills.

The only reason he's in the NBA is because the Nets have no better option.

Yeah, I agree with Black Republican here. Eddie Gill is pure garbage. I would much rather have signed Robert Hite. I can't wait for Marcus to come back.

They would have brought back Hite if he was available, but he wasn't.

i agree with ghoti...gill is unremarkable in any aspect of the game but the good thing is he at least doesn't hurt the team in any way as well when he's in there which is aboutthe most you can expect for a3rd string pg.

He's not even 3rd string. More like 5th string.

He was the Nets' choice after Williams, Armstrong and Hite.

I'll tell you what, I saw Anthony Roberson play for the Nuggets in the preseason and he's better than Gill, too.

I really don't understand the hate for Gill on this board.

He's played above expectations (however low they were to begin with) and hasn't been a detriment to the team. He seems to hustle out there and you can always see him up with the rest of the bench cheering when the Nets make plays. What more can you ask from a bench player?

I haven't seen anything from Gill. Except perhaps, one of the ugliest looking jumpers I've ever seen. It's like Kevin Martin's, but at least Martin's go in usually. He needs to penetrate more and use his quickness. Right now, he's just standing around the perimeter passing. When he comes in, the other team usually goes on a run, like last night, so he kind of has been a detriment. Nets have not had a serviceable backup since Anthony Johnson, which is sad, because AJ was average.

gill is good as 3rd string...armstrong is better pressing the ball but hurts the team with some wild plays...hite has pg height but is a shooting guard good luck with him setting up plays.

Maybe that's not Gill's fault. Maybe that's just what our genius of a coach told him to do.

He's probably the best defensive backup pg I've seen since Harris. He's been contributing pretty good defensively, I'm happy with him there.

And what about the other night, I believe against the Lakers, where Gill was in and Kidd was on the bench, and the team went on a huge run? You shouldn't base judgement on just one performance.
