Pardon Marcus Camby if he didn't want to jinx anything.

"I'll talk about it in 10 games," the Nuggets center said.

The topic was the once injury-prone Camby having played in all 18 games. He's 10 shy of his career iron-man streak of 28, set as a Toronto rookie in 1996-97.

With Camby remaining healthy, forward Kenyon Martin overcoming knee problems and point guard Anthony Carter impressive in his return from a broken right hand, the Nuggets' injury situation suddenly doesn't look too bad.

"In a very quick period of time, we've kind of bounced back into being a pretty efficient offensive team," Nuggets coach George Karl said about Carter, who has become a starter and is averaging 7.5 points and 5.5 assists in six games since his 11/2-month layoff.

There was a scare last week when Martin missed a game after suffering a bone bruise on his surgically repaired right knee, but he scored 20 against Miami on Sunday. And although forward Linas Kleiza sat out practice Monday after slightly aggravating his left ankle, overall he has come back well from a recent sprain.

Among those still sidelined, forward Nene, out since Nov. 7 with a torn left thumb ligament, and guard Chucky Atkins, out since Oct. 25 with a groin pull, are showing progress.

Nene will be evaluated today. Karl hopes to have him back for December's final week.

Atkins will begin full running work next week. He's hopeful of a mid-December return.

"It feels good," he said. "I have no pain."

That's welcome news for the on-the-mend Nuggets.

Having both Nene and K-Mart at the PF will be huge for us. We just need everyone healthy before we can be considered real contenders.
