If the league is involved, the NBA would push several big name candidates in James Dolan's direction. The most obvious are Jerry Colangelo and Jerry West. Also, Kiki Vandeweghe and Colangelo's son, Bryan, who is currently running the Toronto Raptors, shouldn't be ruled out....
The younger Colangelo brilliantly remade the Suns - trading Marbury and signing Steve Nash - and then needed one season to turn the Raptors into one of the league's most exciting young teams. The biggest obstacle with hiring Colangelo would be working out compensation with the Raptors, who are delighted with the job he has done so far. www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/2007/11/18/2007-11-18_jerry_colangelo_jerry_west_fit_to_clean_.html

Never! Seriously though, I don't understand why the league would convince Colangelo to go to the Knicks after they personally stepped in a couple years ago to convince him to sign with us. Also, you got to believe BC would be hesitant to take a position with an owner as intrusive and incompetent as James Dolan. He left Phoenix because of issues with Robert Sarver and one of his main stipulations when he signed with Toronto was that Peddie and co. would let him do his job without intruding.

Kiki knows how to clear up bad cap situations; however, don't let him draft players or sign FA's.

Lmao, BC to the Knicks, makes me laugh.
Why would the league make him go to the Knicks, that is so stupid. I say, the Knicks blow up, and re build, not take our amazing GM away. IF they take him away, I'll riot NY.

BC already set the course for the Raptors. They are set now. I can see why the league would want him to so they don't get the butt end of jokes.
Trading Marbury or banning him from the NBA would also help.

This isn't going to happen. He just signed here, and MLSE would not let him go without hell breaking loose. JUST to talk to Colangelo, the Knicks would need the Raptors' permission, and they won't get it.

Here is a scary thought, Stern works his evil magic and BC goes to the Knicks along with the #1 pick in the lottery.

I would make it my life's goal to murder Stern. As crappy a GM as he is, Isiah would do fine with the first overall pick. He's a hell of a drafter.

Even if BC left, Maury is more than competent. Besides, it's not like we're working with cap space or good draft picks in the next few years anyways.

What kind of compensation are we talking about here? I'd take on of those sure-fire Knicks draft picks, if it was going to happen anyways.

1) NY Daily news is about as credible as the rumours i start in my basement.
2) From Colangelo's POV switching teams this quickly would look bad, bad, bad.

QUOTE (Arrpy)

BC's not going anywhere.

I'm sure that's what Suns fans were thinking too.

Honestly though, anyone who doesn't think the Stern club had a huge partof BC coming to town should be writing for the Sun.
What he giveth, he can taketh away.

QUOTE (GMJigga)

How about in a couple of years BC goes to New York, but stays the hell away from the Knicks?

Or, or, he can stay in Toronto, and help manage MLSE.

If anything, he is the exact opposite as Thomas has been around for 4 years now without a winning record.
