Wow. Are the Twins doing this to spite the Yankees?
Seriously, Lester+Average Centerfielder+Some mid level prospect (I mean by talent) gets you Johan?
Lots of quantity though.

Definitely not a better prospect than Phil Hughes. I don't understand this, at all. The Yankees package is much better.

I'm not sure about that Mamba, based on quantity. Maybe equal. But still, John fricking Lester is the center piece? Come on! He hasn't proven anything. They should have demanded Buch or Jacoby.

Sweet.
My professor is a huge Boston Red Sox fan and he promised us 10 points on our next exam if the Red Sox get Johan.

God damn it, J.P., make a trade. Now we have to face Johan so many times, damn it. Still, When Burnett is healthy, we have a mean rotation.
Halladay
Burnett
Chacin
4 guy
5 guy.

Wow how many great players from Minnesota will end up in New England?
Garnett, Johan, shit, lets add in Moss.

QUOTE (peg182)

Wow. How good is Jon Lester?

Not that great. Kind of a (pleasant) surprise that it's just him leaving and both Ellsbury and Buchholz will be sticking around.

QUOTE (Mamba)

Definitely not a better prospect than Phil Hughes. I love this, I hope Oakland screws them with Dan Haren [not like he'd help that much], like Minnyhas in this Santana thing.

QUOTE (mynetsforlife)

Wow how many great players from Minnesota will end up in New England?
Garnett, Johan, shit, lets add in Moss.

Manny Fernandez.

I'm not a Yankee fan, but I don't know why Minnesota is passing up their deal. I think it's far better than Boston's if Boston is keeping Jacoby and Buchholz.

IDK maybe Bill Smith was once a Red Sox assistant or something?? =D

Who cares. We're bidding againstourselves now. I just want this deal sealed before the Twins can change their mind or some other pencil-pusher team gets involved in this.

Angels are involved suddenly. And you guys DO realize that he went 7-2 before leaving due to his cancer and then CAME BACK FROM CANCER to go 4-0 and help the Red Sox WIN THE WORLD SERIES. You guys can't hate on the kid's heart and talent. But yes, Ellsbury > anything the Twins could have got.

I'm not hating, Ellsbury and Buchholz are just better than him. Theo had the oppurtunity to trade Lester for Oswalt in the 2006 season (reportedly) but didn't, and then a week later we all find out hes got cancer.

Apparently there are 2 deals on the table. Twins can eithertake the 4 player deal. Or a 3 player one in Ellsbury, Masterson and Lowrie that Sox are offering. Only teamtalking to the Twins.
