QUOTE (netsdaily)

Vanderweghe who lost his job in part because Martin has disappointed in Denver is one of a handful of candidates, which also include former GM’s John Gabriel and Rick Sund and YES analyst Mark Jackson, for the Nets, who now must find a talent evaluator equal to Stefanski.

Mark Jackson eh? GM; also coach; book it (just kidding).

I would like to see the Nets think out of the box and maybe go with one of the more opinionated and smarter NBA persons out there. Give a job to Rick Barry. Do it Thorn!

i say wait it out or just get a temp. really look at all the options in the summer to make the best pick out of possibly a bigger bundle to choose from. i like mark jackson but rather have him as a coach or say on TV so we can listen to him.

the first feeling i get when i think of Kiki is no. i just seems that even though he did some good he made some bad moves, then again who hasnt. i rather thorn do both, if he can and wants to for the remainder of this year and fill it during the summer. unless if he can get someone who has a great track record that could come in and help make some moves.

No way on Kiki, I read somewhere, thorn won't do an Ex GM because of the cost. In house Bobby Marks maybe the guy. In general re threads aren't as hard working as first timers. To be Thorn's assistant you have to know players in side and out. Lots of hours watching the players, not just while he has the ball, is he moving, can he get open....etc.

One of those is not always a bad thing. But I believe he'd do his best. And why not, you or I would be better than half these guys.

Thorn's hiring a new assistant because he's not confident in his talent evaluation skills.

I think this job search is exhibit A. Seriously? The best we can do is Kiki Vandeweigh and Mark Jackson? Wow.
