IMO in trading VC the nets have 2 good options which work CAP wise:</p> VC for Ratliff's contract, Gerald Green and Marko Jaric (Replace Kidd at the helm and helps develop RJ and Krstic more)</p> VC for Maggette, Al Thornton, Tim Thomas or Mobley</p>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kobe23)</div><div class='quotemain'></p> VC for Ratliff's contract, Gerald Green and Marko Jaric (Replace Kidd at the helm and helps develop RJ and Krstic more)</p> </div></p> As long as Jaric promises to bring his girlfriend to every game, and YES agrees to have a constant picture in picture where she takes up most of the screen with the game in the corner, then you have yourself a deal.</p> </p>
<div id="mc">More importantly: the Hawks get to keep a big 3 of Kidd, Johnson, Horford <div id="resultbox"> <div class="goodtrade" id="traderesult"> </p> This Trade Succeeded! Kidd for Mark Jackson(s&t) and Marc Jackson. And then somehow get Shawne Williams on this team, and then sign the other Marcus Williams. Then get Jeffer Richardson. Er I mean Jason. And then trade for Jarron Collins. Fun!</p>
Kidd/Allen/Armstrong/Boone for Varejao/Gibson/Ilgauskus/Pavlovic/Newble</p> works salary and roster size wise, the only problem is timing.</p> </p>

I tried the same one, and added in Boone and Nachbar, just so we don't destroy their depth, and they get an expiring contract/possible useful contributer. We do that, we might get a lottery-protected (like it matters with Kidd on the team) pick out of it.</p> Bill Simmons is on crack, doesn't see any viable options except the Lakers, and there only for Crittenton, a lottery protected #1 and junk: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...ons/blog/071206</p>

Man, the more I think about it, the more I really wish we had a gimme on that Bynum for Kidd trade. We do that, we don't sign Carter and then have a nice core of Sean, Bynum, Marcus, RJ and cap space.</p> Then again, all that cap space - you know Thorn woulda screwed it up.</p>
<div>How about Kidd (19.7 mill), Magloire (4 mill), Collins (6 mill) for Marbury (20 mill), Curry (9 mill), and Balkman (1 mill)</div> <div></div> <div>Nets:</div> <div>PG: Marbury // Marcus Williams</div> <div>SG: Vince//Balkman</div> <div>SF: RJ //Wright</div> <div>PF: Allen//Krstic</div> <div>C: Curry//Williams</div> <div>Knicks:</div> <div>PG: Jason Kidd/ Robinson</div> <div>SG: Crawford // Collins</div> <div>SF: Q-Rich // Fred Jones</div> <div>PF: Zach Randolph // David Lee</div> <div>C: Magloire -- Collins -- Jerome James</div>
