I love Kidd as much as the next guy, but if all this is true, then I don't mind a trade.

And as much as I love watching superstars play, I also love to watch rookies and young players rise up, develop, and play well. Apparently, Marcus is going to practice this weekend, and it's up to him now to decide on his conditon. He's kept in shape (I think), staying around 214.

What would you want for Jason Kidd? What direction would you want the team to take if they ended up dealing him?

Backup PG and a lights out shooter (SG/SF). Not sure where they would get that from, but I could see Marcus (if he plays up to his potential) playing a style similar to Nash. Good shooter, offensive minded and great passer. For that style, we need more, real shooters. Athletic wings and big men situation seems fine as long as Krstic gets back into shape.

Of course you also need an offensive minded coach, too bad Adelman got taken.

Also, I currently attend Cal and have watched Leon Powe, and now first round worthy Devon Hardin and Ryan Anderson. That's cool how you like/support Powe. Whats your connection?

You want to trade our HOF pg because you are ready for a guy who hasn't played a basketball game (or even participated in a practice) in six months. Make sense.

You need to think about the concept of rebuilding. Everyone agrees with you in the sense that you don't trade Kidd to be a contender. You do so because that guy who's been out with injury will be a player down the line, along with the young talent you traded for.

There is "the Nets under Jason Kidd", and then there's "the post Kidd era". You gotta start somewhere, and Marcus needs the spotlight to excell.

Don't get me wrong, Kidd is true security blanket for this team, because no matter how bad we play, I know Kidd is good enough in himself to root for.

Without him, this team will be merely mortal. We will be looking at lottery balls, which could be a good thing looking at the potential drafts.

That being said, this team turns my stomach every other game, I sort of wonder how much worse we could be? ? ?

I'm bored with this team as-is. Even if it does lose for a few seasons, a new start could be nice to see.

So, who's ready for a "Where will Kidd go?" voting thread?

QUOTE ( King John da FiF)

We have kidd and are already looking at lottery balls. F**K JASON KIDD. The guy is making 20 million for what??? because of leadership and good passing.....that's bullsh*t. You fools make it seem as if the franchise will fall off the map if kidd gets traded. You think trading kidd to the lakers or the cavs will make them better teams??? I doubt it. They'll just have a better passer on their team, that's all.

I'm glad I saved this cyanide caplet for a rainy day. Goodbye sportstwo!

Good analysis, I think if the Nets get a big man for Kidd, it will be interesting to see what Marcus can do in the future.

Hopefully Kidd isn't traded for somelike what AI got or Carter.

Their contracts add up to like 3-4 million. Whereas JO'N makes around 20 mill per year.

haha, well based on the amount of draft picks it would take to make up for it, we better get started on scouting TJ [IMG]
