As was expected, Marquise Hamm committed to Rutgers today. He must have received an offer over the visit this weekend. A borderline 3-star prospect, Hamm is the teammate of Rutgers' safety target, Brandon Smith. He'll play either DE or TE. Very athletic and very good pick-up. Hope he can help in bringing in Smith.

Morgan Carter, however, is a very unexpected commit. It was thought that he was high on Michigan State and was essentially a lock to go there. As a result, Rutgers backed off in recruiting him thinking we had no shot. Well, we got him anyway. He's a great prospect out of Virginia, and a very smart kid (4.0 GPA). He'll end up playing either TE or WR, with a slight shot at OLB.
Two GREAT gets. This class is filling out nicely. We only have 4 or 5 scholarships left for this year, so hopefully we can still get guys like Ryan Williams, Brandon Smith, and T'Sharvan Bell. Would like to get Quentin Williams as well, but since Hamm and Carter can play TE, he is not needed as much as before, IMO.
