Thorn Waiting on Krstic Before Passing Judgement

Before determining just how good (well, bad) his team is, Rod Thorn wants to see them with a healthy Nenad Krstic. Krstic has now missed the last nine games, but is “getting closer” and looking “better” according to Thorn, who admits to being inundated with trade proposals for Jason Kidd since the migraine controversy.

The only reason I'm responding to this post before ghoti is because his head just exploded.

We're lucky to have a 9-11 record at this point against some pretty terrible teams across the NBA. The schedule only gets harder from here, not easier. And adding Krstic will make us better, but he's not the magic pill that's going to suddenly turn us into a title contender.

This team is spinning its wheels in the mud, making marginal changes that keep us treading water at the same mediocre level we've played at for the past 3 years. We're wasting the last few great years of an NBA Hall of Famer's career.

But Thorn's just going to sit back and wait for the pieces to gel. We're clearly just one piece away, right Rod? I'm getting sick of the broken record.

oh please. so relying on a big who couldnt rebound or defend before when healthy and now is coming off knee surgery and is totally confidence shot is supposed to be the key to success? the fuck man, trade Kidd while he's hot.

I'd pull the trigger on a Kidd trade. There comes a time when a player will get too old. I'd trade Kidd for some youth while he still has value.

    In the article it says,

"Of course, that doesn't mean his peers aren't overreacting to the Jason Kidd business and flooding his office with calls -- most of them of the insulting variety."

I assume no team is straight up offering a big name for Kidd so most are just testing the fence to see if it is hopable or dangerous.

I wonder what teams are interested. Besides Cleveland, Dallas, and LA.

Anyone remember that funny rumor last season where supposably; the Suns offered Raja Bell and a first round pick for Kidd?

right, everyone first needs to figure out whether Rod is looking for picks, young players, expiring contracts, a star at another position, or some combination, and that's what they are trying to determine now.

If we're not improved before deadline (21 Feb) I think Kidd would be traded. Thorn is not dumb and by any means he is not dumber than any of us.
