QUOTE

Although sources have indicated the Lakers may be interested in trading for Jason Kidd, they may be reluctant to give up the player the Nets want most, Andrew Bynum, despite coach Phil Jackson's recent harsh criticism of the 20-year-old center's conditioning. Bynum reacted to Jackson's remark by matching his career-high with 20 points against Golden State Sunday night.

The Lakers weren't willing to deal Bynum last year, they definitely won't deal him this year for Kidd. Pretty weak re-hash of an old story based on a stupid PJax quote.

    Slow news day I guess.

I still think the Rockets are the team to keep an eye on if Kidd is dealt.

Those people were right last year because Bynum was terrible and a goof. He's been tearing it up this year because he finally worked hard in the offseason and took his career serious.

    Defintely agree, all aboard!!!!

Rockets, hum interesting thought. Wonder about the guys in play. Contract options would be James, or Alston, with the contracts they have, Battier has to be in the mix, expiring ones in Snyder or Wells. The only young piece is Scola....aside from the picks going back.

I don't see the Lakers trading Bynum, and you don't want what else they might offer. Hard to find a Western trade partner right now.

I still think Bynum is a bit overrated. Yes, I'd trade him for Kidd but I'm sure if we got Sean a personal coach and made him the centerpeice of the future, he would half decent too. Heck, 20 points? Seans hit that in his first 20 games and he's only 21.

That's what Kobe told Buss. Kobe don't like anyone but himself.

It's a solid deal for the Nets because you get back two guys who are good enough to help you reach the playoffs this year (Battier & Scola), have favorable contracts and you get a servicable PG back in Alston.

I could see a blockbuster take place with these two teams with the Jefferson/Kidd being shipped to Houston in return for TMac plus something along the lines of the above package. Both these teams could use a shakeup.

Nets would have two marketable players in VC & TMac (the cousins) and some role players.

That was last summer. Things have changed since then and Bynum has become an impact player. The Lakers and Nets should have done a deal last year because the Lakers were in a position to get a high seed and would be able to make a title run with Kobe-Odom-Kidd out West.

This year Bynum has been labled "untouchable"

    Haven't we seen that before?

Oh, and definitely Snyder over Wells. What would be the point of taking Wells?

Didn't TMac leave there to get out of VC's shadow? I guess VC will be in TMac's shadow this time around.

That would be sick having Tracy McGrady and Vince on the same team.
