We don't need 25 threads for these. If you are playing with the Trade Checker, just post it in here.

Follow the format. Explain how the trade benefits both teams and note how happy Kidd will be if your trade is made.

    Here's a start.

Why the Nets do it - They get a young Kidd replacement, some good young bigs and a decent expiring contract. They also get another Williams, which would give them the league lead.

Why the Hawks do it - They get about 20 games better and keep a good core of young players. They can't pay them all anyway. They get rid of Claxton's contract.

How happy would Kidd be? - Not very - but that team has more talent than the 2001 Nets that he brought to the finals, and the conference is still weak overall.

Why the Nets do this: Amazing young talent will make a team thats fun to watch and set us up for the future.
Why the Hawks do this: What's the point of rebuilding? To eventually win. The Hawks get Jason Kidd without giving up Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, or Al Horford! That's a playoff team right there. They also don't have to give up any draft picks, so they haven't crippled the future of this team. Additionally they get Speedy Claxton's contract off their hands.

Is Kidd happy? I couldn't care less, but I think a trio of Johnson, Smith, and Horford plays better with him than Vince, RJ, (and whoever happens to be at the PF/C).

What do the Nets do with the 19 man roster?

Phew, wow totally didn't think about that. Darrell, and Malik are done for. That takes us down to 17...Ok I'll get back to you [IMG]

Why would the Wiz give up Antawn and Nick Young? Especially with Gil there

    They can take our Gill!

Nick Young and a first rounder wouldn't be horrible to build around because it avoids the situation of having 2 "Next-Kidds" if we traded for a young PG.

Because a Kidd-Gil backcourt sounds great on paper. In practice, it would suck, because Arenas would want to control the ball 90% of the time, rendering Kidd virtually worthless, but whatever. The idea would be that Kidd would keep the team afloat until Gil returned, and then t hey'd make a run in the playoffs, and Arenas would then resign. Jamieson is going to be a free agent anyway. I'd like to get Blatche in that deal, but becauseAndray can't be traded until next week, the trade machine won't let us include him.

Then we could deal Jamieson, Nick Young, and a pick to Memphis for Pau. :-) Thus turning Kidd into Pau and Blatche (!!). Somehow we'd have to get another PG out of it, though.

LA would also throw in a 2008 first rounder...

I actually think this deal would work for both teams...we get Turiaf, Farmar, Crittenton, and Ariza plus the 1st which gives us young talent to build on...Mihm and Kwame are filler and Odom allows us to either trade RJ or use as an asset in the offseason in another trade.

LA gets an all pro PG, a solid backup PG, Boki and Wright who would provide go depth on there bench, Magliore who gives them a solid big behind bynum and Allen.

I've always had this crazy dream of Kidd and Arenas in the backcourt, with Arenas giving up his point gaurd spot to Kidd and moving to two gaurd. It would make sense on paper, because Arenas is obviously one of the top scorers in the NBA.

Imagine a big three of Kidd, Areans, Butler. That's three legit all-stars. Combine that with some solid role players in Antonio Daniels, Andray Blatche, Brendan Haywood, DeShawn Stevenson, Roger Mason, and young talent like Olesky Perchov and Dominic McGuire, and you have a solid team.

I obviously don't follow the Wizards as closely as I do the Nets, but doesn't Arenas get most of his points off his own dribble? Either pulling up for a J or driving to the hoop? I don't see him meshing with Kidd. Carter's a better fit because he's more likely to spot up for a jumper off a pass from someone else.
