Josh Boone last night...7 points 14 rebounds (6 offensive), 2 steals, 2 blocks, and an assist....played hard.

It seems like every time he gets 25+ mins he gets double digit rebounds and around 7 or more points. If only Frank played him, Swat and Magliore, this team would have 5 more wins at least.

Josh will turn out to be a fine selection for a #22 or #23 pick. Non-lottery big men have a very low percentage chance of turning into solid contributors. Josh could average 8 and 6, which believe it or not would put him in the upper third of non-lottery big men, historically. Plus, he plays decent defense. I'm looking forward to seeing him play with marcus again.

I think Boone and Swat could combine for 20 points and 20 rebounds a nite if they each got around 25 mins easily...give them 30 mintues and you might get 25 points and 25 rebounds combined.

So Boone had a nice game. I guess it is time to bump some of the posts about him from the last month

He had trouble holding on to the ball a couple of times last night, but played far better than any of the other bigs. As long as he's hustling non stop, I want to see him out there on the floor.

he was completely out of sync the first few weeks; Frank benched him; and since he has returned to the rotation he has looked better each day. Again, his slow start could have been residual effects from his off-season surgery. I'm pretty happy with his play, but as someone else said, if he's your best player you're in trouble.

Hes going to be a fine 2nd or 3rd big off the bench, thats his upside.

Nah. First or second big! And again, if you look at the non-lottery bigs drafted in the last ten years, that's still pretty good. the major exceptions to that have been: kids drafted out of HS (e.g., JON), and foreigners who spent an additional year or two in Europe before coming over (e.g., Krstic). Maybe now there's a third category: Short post players with spectacular college stats that the unimaginative GMs would never consider drafting.

He still fumbled the ball a few times as someone noted.

He missed several rotations on defense that led to players getting behind him on the weakside for easy layins.

Also there was 1 play where he pump faked Ruben Patterson (I think) into the air, and then waited what seemed like a full 2 seconds before he shot the ball... at which point 3 defenders had surrounded him... from point blank range.

His hustle is great, but his hands will always suck, and I'm still seeing mental mistakes. He is certainly serviceable as a 20 minute a night 2nd unit guy, but I don't see him as any saving grace for the Nets' bigs.

The Nets can't play him with Collins, but imho his defensive weaknesses combined w/ Boki's make them a bad combo at the 4/5... so I guess I'll have to join the SWAT + Boone 4/5 combo bandwagon seeing as there are no other viable options.

He's great at pump faking down low but he always looses it going up. If he works on that and can finish, he can be dangerous like Chuck Norris.

That's what I suspected. He's an extremely injury-prone player. What is it, a surgery every off-season? Or is that Krstic?

On the defensive end he looked really good at not giving any ground. His weakness seemed to be lateral movement; Kaman was just too quick for him.

You forgot "kids who are percieved to have attitude problems because they made an unfortunate series of mistakes in college that led to them being kicked off their team, even though the 'issues' only involved a 'drug' less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes".

Those kids tend to do well also.

our bigs value is uaually inflated due to the fact that Kidd and VC get them easy looks. once those two move on, we'll see how good Boone and Sean are.

It's only a good game for him, we can't hype him that much.

You will see that he has the migraine again.

Correction KIDD makes EVERYONE look better around him...I don't feel that way about VC. Also Boone's 14 rebounds weren't effected by Vince or Kidd...its his talent which everyone praised him for coming out of college.

Everyone needs to get of Vince's nuts...he's a good player but if he continues to settle for jump shots along with his weak defense he will be a liability on this team.
