PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- After taking down the reigning NBAchampions at home, Stephen Jackson and the red-hot Golden StateWarriors take their show to the road.


Jackson and the surging Warriors hope to continue their recentstellar play Wednesday when they visit the Portland TrailBlazers.


After losing its first six games this season, Golden State haswon 12 of its last 15 contests, including Tuesday's 96-84victory over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs.

Jackson scored 20 points for Golden State, which had not won 12games during a 15-game stretch since the 1975-76 campaign.

The Warriors have gone 11-3 since Jackson, the team captain,returned to the lineup from a season-opening seven-gamesuspension.


The Trail Blazers enter Wednesday's contest on a season-highfour-game winning streak.


Martell Webster scored a season-high 25 points as Portlandcontinued its winning ways Tuesday with a 97-89 victory over theUtah Jazz.


The 21-year-old Webster, who was selected sixth overall duringthe 2005 NBA draft, is making vast improvements in his third NBAseason, averaging 12.0 points while playing just over 33minutes a game.

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- The suddenly upstart PortlandTrail Blazers cooled off the Golden State Warriors.

Travis Outlaw scored 26 points to lead a balanced attack as theTrail Blazers posted their fifth consecutive win with a105-95 victory over the Warriors on Monday night.


James Jones scored a season-high 21 points, Brandon Roy also had21 and Joel Przybilla added a double-double with a season-high15 points and 10 rebounds for shorthanded Portland.

Despite missing leading scorer LaMarcus Aldridge and MartellWebster, who left Wednesday's game early with flu-like symptoms,the Trail Blazers handed the Warriors just their fourth loss intheir last 16 games by scoring 56 bench points.


Baron Davis scored 23 points for the Warriors, who couldn't keepup with hot-shooting Portland in the second half. Trailing byas many as 14 points in the first half, Golden State closedwithin 54-49 at halftime. A 13-7 run to start the third periodgave the Warriors their first lead since the first quarter.

Portland answered behind second-year stud Roy, who scored sevenpoints in a 14-2 surge that was capped by Jones' 20-foot jumperto give the Trail Blazers a 79-69 lead.


The reigning Western Conference Player of the Week, Roy scored11 in the period as the Blazers took an 85-77 lead heading intothe fourth period. Portland shot a blistering 11-of-14 in thethird.


The teams were tied at 22-22 after the first quarter. Davisscored 10 of the Warriors' first 16 points while Przybillascored Portland's first seven points.


The Blazers started the second quarter with a 22-8 run and tooktheir biggest lead at 42-28 on a free throw by Jones at the 6:49mark.


Reserves Jones and Outlaw were the catalysts, scoring fivepoints apiece during the spurt and combining for 22 points inthe period. Two 3-pointers by Golden State in the final minuteclosed the gap to 54-49 at half.


Portland played its second straight game without Aldridge(plantar fasciitis). The Warriors were without guard MontaEllis, who strained his left calf in Tuesday's victory over SanAntonio.

"Were playing with a lot of confidence as a team," said Roy, whoalso collected seven assists, five rebounds with no turnovers."Travis is on a role right now. He's coming ready to playevery night for us. We're also getting it from Joel and Jameswhich is key because we are playing a little short-handed.

"So it's nice to have those guys as our veterans stepping upwith some others guys not being able to go."
