no you don't "need" one per say. But if you want to get the full use out of the system then yes you should get one. its made for hi-def gaming. but i knew a few people who don't have one and still have a 360. the graphics are definitely an upgrade but not in hi-def like they should be. IMO, the difference is like night and day. you'll see where that extra went when you game in hi-def</p>

Yes. And you also need an internet connection even if you don't play online. Playing a 360 on an analog TV is like bringing Jessica Alba to a tropical island and having her wear ski gear the whole time. She's still hot, but why bother?

An HDTV isn't required by it's what most of people are switching to these days. BTW, in order to play in HD you might need component cables or HDMI depending on which is available.
