I'm still down for keeping the team together, but if we have to trade somebody I'd rather have Kidd than VC. If we trade Kidd though I'd rather trade both of them.

QUOTE

doesn't have the same effect anymore. trip doubles from him used to mean wins, now, he can get one and you wouldnt know it.

So because the Nets are losing, he isn't affecting the game? Triple doubles or not, in order to win you need a team to play well, not one individual. It may look like he has no impact, but the difference from past seasons is that the Nets were contending as team versus this season. Now you have Carter playing well one night, then going into his shooting slump. The bench shows some promise in one particular game, then completely disappears the next game. Pure inconsistency. All this overshadows Kidd's triple doubles....which shouldn't even matter. Kidd will impact the game without having to go all out.

Jizzy, you desperately want changes, that's fine. Randolph is not the answer, in my eyes.

QUOTE (furnace)

The most important factor about Vince Carter is NOT the following: 1) Whether it looks like he is trying or not trying 2) Whether he settles for jump shots too much 3) Whether he is injured too much The most important factor about Vince Carter IS... ...his game does NOT fit with Jason Kidd's. That is the bottom line. 1) Carter does not run the break 2) Carter does not run cuts in the half court Those are the strengths of Kidd's game. The whole point of Jason Collins boxing out and Kidd leading the Nets in rebounds is that way, the Nets can have Kittles, Kenyon, and Jefferson running down the court ready to dunk or layup. The plain and simple fact is that that is the formula that got the Nets to the finals. No other combination has come close. Now that Wright is playing with confidence and defending like Kittles, and Sean Williams is exhibiting Kenyon-like qualities, what the Nets SHOULD do is get back to fast break and motion basketball. Unfortunately, they can't. If no one else wanted Carter as a free agent, do any of you really think someone out there will want him with this bloated contract?

I agree with some of what you said but I ask youtwo simiple questions: When Vince was out and they had the ability to run this "amazing" line up of Kidd, Wright, Jefferson, Williams, Collins...how many games did they win? Secondly, I may be blind, or must've been watching a different game than you but how much did this team run when Vince was out for those games?I didn't see much running at all, in fact it looked like the same team except without Vince playing.

Zbo has positives? That's news to me. You'd have to be as brain dead as Isiah Thomas to actually want him on your team.

You have to remember that when Vince was there, he was the focus of the offense (less this year than last evidenced by RJ's rise, but the offense still went through Vince). For the last 3 years, it has been implanted into the team's brain to go through Vince so that is a hard habit to get ride of. It's kinda like fixing your golf swing. You will change it, but it will take a while to get out of the old habits.
Also I must emphasize, that I think Vince's game doesn't fit Kidd's game. If Vicne comes off the bench, he would not be spending that much time on the court with Kidd. Maybe that's why when Vince came back but off the bench, that was the best of both worlds. You have a group of fast break and motion offense starters who get most of the minutes with Kidd, while you have Vince beating down on the opponents' 2nd unit.
Notice the difference in dominance from Vince as well...dominant vs the 2nd units, but fading away and loop dee loop circus shots against opposing starters.
