I agree with some of what you said but I ask youtwo simiple questions: When Vince was out and they had the ability to run this "amazing" line up of Kidd, Wright, Jefferson, Williams, Collins...how many games did they win? Secondly, I may be blind, or must've been watching a different game than you but how much did this team run when Vince was out for those games?I didn't see much running at all, in fact it looked like the same team except without Vince playing.

Vince was only out for 4 games. You have to remember that when Vince was there, he was the focus of the offense (less this year than last evidenced by RJ's rise, but the offense still went through Vince). For the last 3 years, it has been implanted into the team's brain to go through Vince so that is a hard habit to get ride of. It's kinda like fixing your golf swing. You will change it, but it will take a while to get out of the old habits.

Also I must emphasize, that I think Vince's game doesn't fit Kidd's game. If Vicne comes off the bench, he would not be spending that much time on the court with Kidd. Maybe that's why when Vince came back but off the bench, that was the best of both worlds. You have a group of fast break and motion offense starters who get most of the minutes with Kidd, while you have Vince beating down on the opponents' 2nd unit.

Notice the difference in dominance from Vince as well...dominant vs the 2nd units, but fading away and loop dee loop circus shots against opposing starters.

Carter was out 5 games. And he asked you about the Nets running game when Carter was out, not their halfcourt game which you went on about. Vince was running the floor better in preseason and in the beginning of the season but it has tapered off a bit lately, probably due to some injuries. But anyways, the Nets getting a starting big(playing Sean with Kidd and the starters more) that can run the floor would have a greater impact on their running game than Carters ability to run the floor. Sure, Carter can break to the basket a little bit more on fastbreaks and still be an option to pull up for a transition 3, but a big that can play starter mintues and finish on the break should be more of a priority for the Nets fastbreak game. Also, Wright hasn't shown so far to be much of an improvement as an open court player compared to Carter. Another thing that could also help the Nets fastbreak is Frank opening up the offense and not being so strict about running a set offense when initial fastbreak isn't there. He should encourage them to look for a good early scoring opporunity more frequently rather than pulling the ball back, letting the offense setup, letting the defense setup. and then running the play and shotclock down and getting a shot that they probably could have gotten earlier in the shotlclock off a simple drive and kick. The Nets should look to pick up the pace of the game and and more opportuntie to break could present themselves.

And Vince has played well against opposition starters and opposing 2nd units.

You still didn't answer my question about why the Nets didn't run much when Vince was gone? I understand that it would take time to adjust to the halfcourt offence without Vince because he plays a big part in that but as far as the running goes, that didn't change when Vince was out.

Secondly, Vince has been doing quite well in the starting line up. In December he's averaging 23.1 PPG on 46% shooting to go along with 4.9 RPG and 3.6 APG and he's started all the games in December except for the 1st one against Philly.

and youre focusing on his negatives while completely ignoring his positives but i dont want to get in this. i stil remember that thread from BBB which had me defending ZBo for 3 pages.

he put up 26/17/4 a couple of nights ago. he gets the job done and thats all im saying

You defended Zach Randolph for 3 pages? Seriously?

Here's Zach Randolph's season, age, games played, minutes per game and team record by year:

2001-02 20 POR NBA 41 5.8 49-33 2002-03 21 POR NBA 77 16.9 50-32 2003-04 22 POR NBA 81 37.9 41-41 2004-05 23 POR NBA 46 34.8 27-55 2005-06 24 POR NBA 74 34.4 21-61 2006-07 25 POR NBA 68 35.6 32-50

The Knicks are following suit. I see a correlation.

If you really think he could be a positive addition to any team in a starter's role, then you know less about basketball than I gave you credit for.

The problem is the coach, not Vince.
